UFC 113's Matt Mitrione says forget what you think you know about him, "Kimbo Slice"
Matt Mitrione (1-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) knows a thing or two about being pigeonholed, and he's not about to do that to UFC 113 opponent and fellow "The Ultimate Fighter 10" veteran Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson (4-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC). Mitrione, a former linebacker and defensive tackle in the NFL, got a reputation on the Spike TV series as a difficult-to-work-with brooder that rubbed his teammates the wrong way. Ferguson already had a reputation as an MMA greenie made famous by the good fortune of YouTube. Six months after the program aired, both continue to grow as mixed martial artists and carve out identities in the UFC. Mitrione says he's not bothered by his image. All he's focused on is beating Slice, and do to that, he's trying to forget all that he thinks he knows about the bearded fighter.
Report: 'Aldo vs. Faber' Draws 150k-200k PPV Buys According to Early Estimates
According to new reports on Heavy and f4wonline, early estimates indicate that Saturday's "Aldo vs. Faber" event generated between 150,000 and 200,000 buys. In other words (assuming the estimates are accurate), the WEC's first attempt at pay-per-view was a smashing success. A couple points to put those numbers in perspective: — 150k-200k is not too far off from the 240,000 buys that UFC 110 pulled in, with its roster full of MMA stars. — Affliction did no more than 100,000 buys with its first event. As a starting point for WEC-product on pay-per-view, it's very encouraging, and proves that Zuffa knows how to promote and package their fights. Now that fans know the WEC is worth their money, Zuffa is in an even better position for the next time they want to charge us...

DREAM 14 To Be Held In A Cage
At an impromptu "urgent" press conference in Japan today, it was announced that the upcoming DREAM 14 event will be held in a cage and not the ring normally used in the promotion. Apparently the change was made after Hayato Sakurai requested his fight with Nick Diaz be in a cage and not a ring and other fighters agreed to it. Right now the change appears to be only for DREAM 14.
UFC's Tito Ortiz denies wrongdoing, accuses Jenna Jameson of OxyContin abuse
First of all anything being posted is just speculation. Nothing is a fact yet. I'm just posting this because the news is important and it can determine a fighters life and career. Just keep that in mind when leaving comments. Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz called a press conference in North Hollywood, Calif., Monday night and said an alleged domestic abuse incident with longtime girlfriend Jenna Jameson was prompted by Jameson's addiction to the prescription opiate OxyContin. "Unfortunately, Jenna relapsed this morning and suffered the consequences of that," Chip Matthews, Ortiz's personal lawyer, said at the press conference. "We're here because Tito was trying to help her." Ortiz denied harming Jameson during the incident, which allegedly took place Monday morning at the couple's home in Huntington Beach, Calif.
