Edmond Tarverdyan says there's a chance Ronda Rousey returns for a title shot by the end of the year
Rousey's long-time trainer, Edmond Tarverdyan told ESPN this week that Rousey's return to the Octagon is being discussed for later this year in a bantamweight title bout against current champion Amanda Nunes.
"There have been talks about her coming back, but we haven't made a final decision yet. There's a chance she fights to get her belt back this year, but nothing is set yet. If we do make a comeback this year, we will. If not we will make it next year. We want to thank all our fans for being patient."
According to Tarverdyan, Rousey began training for her comeback last month and, given the time frame, it appears most likely that Rousey would be returning for UFC 207 on Dec. 30th if she were to come back this year. That coincides with Fox Sports' report that Rousey has indeed been offered the bout with Nunes though no agreements have been sent nor signed.

Neil Seery to retire after UFC Belfast bout vs. Ian McCall
Neil Seery has been competing professionally in MMA since 2005, and at 37 years of age, he’s the oldest flyweight on the UFC roster. The Irish fan favorite has competed inside the Octagon six times, and his seventh one will also double as the final fight of his career.
In an interview with Newstalk’s Peter Carroll, Seery explained his decision to retire after his upcoming UFC Belfast showdown with Ian McCall.
“I’m 37 years of age. I’m looking at the younger lads coming through the ranks, how they’re training and adjusting, and it’s hard for me to keep up with that with a family, a full-time job and everything else I’m managing,” explained the father of four.
“(Kyoji) Horiguchi was a completely different fighter to me than he was against Demetrious Johnson. I had never felt a flyweight as strong as he was that night. That’s how much these guys are training, they can completely change their approach in just a year.
“These guys are full-time athletes. I’ve never been a full-time athlete and I’ve hung in there with those guys. But again, I’m not here to just hang in there with people just so I can say I’m in the UFC. I’m happy with what I’ve done in the sport. Now is the right time.
“I’m going to get to walk away while I’m still in the UFC and not a lot of people get to do that. A lot of people get cut from the UFC and then try to put a run back together to get back in.
“I’ve made this decision. My final fight will be against a man whose style I have admired for a long time. The fact that I get to have my final fight in Belfast is just a really nice bonus.”
