SPOILER: Alvarez vs Chandler + Bellator 58 results
In one of the best fights the Bellator cage has ever hosted, undefeated lightweight Michael Chandler fulfilled his dream of becoming a world champion at Bellator 58 with a fourth round submission victory over the reigning Bellator Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez on Saturday. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino was in a frenzy as Alvarez set out to defend his Bellator title since capturing the belt in Belltaor’s first season. In his first title defense, his superior boxing led to a five round decision win over the last tournament champion, Pat Curran, but this time his opponent wouldn't stop moving forward. Alvarez was able to fend off Chandler's takedown attempts, but Chandler connected with too many power punches and had Alvarez on the fence multiple times. In the fourth round, one of Chandler’s powerful punches stunned Alvarez and dropped the Lightweight Champion to the mat, where Chandler was able to gain full mount with a knee to belly pass. He poured the pressure on Alvarez and forced him to turn over where he sunk in a rear naked choke and forced a tap almost immediately. Chandler was awarded the win, and more importantly the Bellator Lightweight Championship. “Chandler vs. Alvarez was quite simply the best mixed martial arts fight I have ever seen,” said Bellator Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney. “After having watched over 1,000 fights since the early 1990s, I’ve never seen a better back and forth battle. Chandler’s win over Alvarez is a win over a fighter who I believed was the best lightweight in the world, while at the same time is a testament to what Bellator is all about....." sadly this happened on the same night as the epicness of Rua vs Hendo. Rebney will have to change his stance after watching this

Wanderlei Silva Thinks Cung Le Should Thank Him for New Hollywood Look
Wanderlei Silva is one of the UFC's most beloved fighters, an honor he has earned through a long career filled with memorable fights and an easy to appreciate desire to put on thrilling fights. At UFC 139 he picked up a very big win after stopping Cung Le with strikes in the second round. Now Silva tells MMA Heat's Karyn Bryant that Cung Le should thank him for the beating he handed out. Best quote from the video (ht: MMA Mania): He's a really good fighter, he's a tough, tough guy. Right now with that nose, he's going to make more money in Hollywood because now he looks like a more real fighter. He should thank me for making his nose look better. For his job, it's so good.

Carlos Condit to Face Josh Koscheck at UFC 143
As expected, Carlos Condit won't sit around and wait for Georges St-Pierre and Nick Diaz to decide the direction of the UFC welterweight division. Instead, Condit will face former No. 1 contender Josh Koscheck at UFC 143. Koscheck announced the fight on his own, and a source confirmed that Condit has at least verbally agreed to take the bout.

Chael Sonnen Accepts Anderson Silva's Challenge to Fight in Brazil
Chael Sonnen and Anderson Silva is a rivalry that clearly isn't going to calm down any until the two men have their rematch. Sonnen gave Silva everything he could handle for the majority of their first fight before getting caught in a triangle choke and submitted late in the fifth round. Since that point we've had fans and Sonnen clamor for a rematch while Silva's camp has seemingly done everything they can to say that Sonnen should be at the back of the line. Anderson though has said that he will fight whoever the UFC tells him to fight and UFC president Dana White has said that the two will need to rematch. Recently Silva said that if Chael wants the rematch they can do the fight in Brazil and now Sonnen took to Twitter to say he'll travel for the fight if needed

Fedor Emelianenko explains why he didn't try to finish Jeff Monson In Russia (Video)
Thank God I have no injuries ... I'm very grateful to God for losses and for wins, so I feel very good. I was very happy with [the outcome] because everything we planned before with my coaches, I did exactly what they asked me to do. I went for the kill once before against Fabricio Werdum and I paid dearly for that. This time I thought I better change my strategy. I was very happy with my performance the way I strategized the entire fight. Monson was a tough fighter and I was just happy that I won.

Illness, sprained thumb, Rua no match for UFC 139 winner Henderson
Dan Henderson (29-8 MMA, 5-2 UFC) had prepared himself for a five-round fight against Mauricio "Shogun" Rua (20-6 MMA, 4-4 UFC). But a bug he'd caught the week prior to UFC 139 sapped his strength and left him so dehydrated that he needed IV fluids following a bout that's been called one of the best in UFC history.

Despite more than a year away from action, it took Wilson Gouveia nothing more than a quick instant to agree to face his upcoming opponent at MFC 32: Bitter Rivals. With a wholly healed body and a fighting spirit back intact, Gouveia eagerly accepted the challenge of taking on heavy-handed Dwayne “D-Bomb” Lewis. There wasn’t a moment’s hesitation, not a pause to ponder things over, and absolutely not one bit of doubt in his response

Hendo and Shogun; Too much for TV? you decide!
SAN JOSE, Calif. – It's already earned praise as one of the greatest fights in UFC history – if not MMA history. But Dan Henderson's epic victory over Mauricio "Shogun" Rua in Saturday's UFC 139 main event could have been disastrous had it aired on FOX instead of pay-per-view, UFC president Dana White told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). And if you don't agree, well, you know the drill: You can shut your pie hole.

Is Faber next for Cruz?
UFC president Dana White on Saturday night confirmed that Faber's UFC 139 win over Brian Bowles was indeed enough to earn "The California Kid" a quick rematch with UFC bantamweight champion Cruz. Cruz, of course, defeated Faber in the main event of July's UFC 132 event. However, Faber remains the only man to have ever beaten Cruz after downing the then-featherweight in a March 2007 contest under the WEC banner. "He's in," White said of Faber. "I think Urijah looked good tonight."

Fedor gives Monson a beating
Instead, Emelianenko treated the fight much like a kickboxing match, and he dropped Monson on multiple occasions – including three times in a dominant second round –with single shots. However, unlike Strikeforce, where his aggression sometimes proved an unwise gamble, he remained patient, refused to follow his opponent to the mat, and simply chopped him down with stinging leg kicks and lunging punches once they were standing. By the third round, Monson was battered and bloodied, and his flatfooted fighting style and telegraphed shots made him easy prey. Emelianenko didn't get the finish, but he thoroughly dominated the fight to pick up the judges' nod.

Anderson Silva Likely Sidelined Until Mid-2012
UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva is currently nursing an injured shoulder and it appears he will be on the shelf for several months. Following his win in Brazil in August, Silva was reported to have bursitis in his shoulder that forced the reigning 185-pound king to take some time off to allow the healing to begin. All signs were pointing towards Silva returning in early 2012 to defend his middleweight belt against top contender Chael Sonnen. Not so fast. Apparently, Anderson Silva’s shoulder injury is serious enough that he won’t likely return until approximately June 2012.

Report: Hatsu Hioki vs Bart Palaszewski planned for UFC 144 in Japan
Surprise! More home grown talent is headed for the Octagon when the world's largest fight promotion returns to Japan. That's because Hatsu Hioki has reportedly been booked to square off against Bart Palaszewski at UFC 144, which is scheduled for Feb. 26, 2012, at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. MMAWeekly.com brought word of the pending match-up earlier today. Hioki was last in action this past Oct. 29 at UFC 137 where he made his debut in the big leagues and looked anything but impressive. Sure, he emerged victorious, squeaking by George Roop with a split decision win. But he failed to impress stateside fight fans who were witnessing his brand of violence for the very first time. Maybe he'll have better luck back home in a more comfortable environment.

Bellator champ Hector Lombard: Chael Sonnen is boring as [expletive]
( mmajunkie.com)
Bellator Fighting Championships middleweight title holder Hector Lombard (30-2-1 MMA, 7-0 BFC) boasts one of the most impressive winning streaks in all of mixed martial arts, but he's not exactly a household name. Chael Sonnen fell short in his bid to unseat UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, yet he's one of the most sought-after fighters in all of the sport. That doesn't sit well with Lombard. "Chael Sonnen talks [expletive] about everything and the guy is boring as [expletive]," Lombard said. "His style is boring as hell, and he talks [expletive] all the time – offending a lot of people. That's just not my style. I don't have to talk [expletive]. I let my actions speak in the cage."
