Coker: Even With Fedor Win, Overeem Fight No Guarantee
(mmajunkie.com)
Scott Coker has a little bit of advice for those assuming Fedor Emelianenko vs. Alistair Overeem for the Strikeforce Heavyweight Title will happen if Fedor beats Fabricio Werdum next month: Don't. It's not guaranteed. Coker says it's wait and see, and of course they would have to talk to M-1 Global after 6/26. And if Werdum wins, forget it.

Shine Fights exec still unsure why card was canceled, vows to return in summer
(mmajunkie.com)
While the North Carolina Boxing Authority's decision to cancel Saturday night's Shine Fights event is just hours old, the levity of the situation has already been fully realized by the promotion's CEO, Devin Price. "It's definitely sunk in," Price told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). "This is definitely reality. It's not the reality I was hoping for, but it's definitely reality." But what Price said he doesn't fully realize yet is why. Why did the commission pull the plug when everyone else involved was prepared to move forward – even without the participation of former boxing champion Ricardo Mayorga?

Rashad Evans Was A TUF 10 Coach Because Lyoto Machida Couldn't Speak English
(mmamania.com)
And that, says Quinton Jackson, is why he got stuck with Rashad as the opposing coach and apparently he still isn't happy about it. "I would have preferred to have done The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) against Machida to fix the problem back in the day, from square one, just 'X' Rashad out because he don't got the damn belt, but Machida's English is not so good so I get stuck having to fight Rashad and he's all cocky thinking he did something good because he's on The Ultimate Fighter but like dude, you just got knocked the hell out! You're on The Ultimate Fighter by default because the dude that knocked you out don't speak English bro. Don't be coming here acting like that. This is the type of thing I'm dealing with. It's just annoying actually."

Andrei Arlovski: 'I just can't lose again'
(mmamania.com)
"After I lost to Brett Rogers, I had meetings with all my trainers, and they gave me a lot of ultimatums. They said that I had to do it their way, or that I would have to start to look for new trainers. When I fought Rogers I didn't stick to my game plan and I didn't take him seriously. Everything happens for a reason, and I'm more disciplined now. I'm definitely going to stick to my game plan. No more flying knees like against Emelianenko. No more putting my hands down like I did against Rogers. No more losing. I just can't lose again. It's very dramatic for me to lose fights and I want to climb back into the top. It's going to be a very tough and important fight for me."

Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that CBS officials have yet to contact him regarding the possibility of broadcasting a third fight card on the network. Nevertheless, Coker said there's no need for panic just yet, and he remains "hopeful" Strikeforce will return to CBS airwaves later this year.
