Couture insists he is not thinking of retiring soon
(fightersonlymagazine.co.uk) Randy Couture says he has not been thinking of retirement any time soon, even though he is the oldest active fighter on the UFC roster. Having recently signed a new six-fight deal, he could find himself fighting all the way up to his 49th birthday.
"I'm not in the illusion that I'm going to fight forever, but I'm having a blast. I'm still getting better as an athlete and a fighter and will take one fight at a time,” he told The Sun. "But it's not really about achievement anymore, or accolades or any of that. It's more about doing what I have a passion for and doing what I love.
"I love to train and I love the competition, and I love to do it. Achievements and winning titles and all the other stuff is the icing on the cake."
Cain Velasquez: There is nothing Ben Rothwell can do to me
(mmamania.com) "He’s a normal person, just like me. Whatever he’s willing to do to me, you know, I’m willing to do the same to him. [I plan on] controlling him on the feet, making openings, taking him down. Just beating him up real bad, and picking my shots and really exploding on him; Letting him know that there is nothing that he can do to me.”
UFC heavyweight contender Cain Velasquez talks about his upcoming fight with former IFL champion Ben Rothwell at UFC 104 from the Staples Center this Saturday, Oct. 24.
UFC 104's crowd-pleasing lightweight Spencer Fisher wants a shot at B.J. Penn

With the organization's return to the arena on Saturday night for "UFC 104: Machida vs. Shogun" just three days away, one fighter from that UFC 60 card is again readying himself for a fight at the Los Angeles venue: Spencer Fisher (23-4 MMA, 8-3 UFC).

Sources close to both competitors told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) verbal agreements are in place and bout agreements will be signed shortly.
The event takes place Jan. 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and airs on pay-per-view.
Stephens, Not Escudero, Likely Facing Lentz At UFN 20
(mmajunkie.com) It seems the rapid-fire pace of UFC Fight Night 20 fight announcements has gotten to be a little too fast. Intiially there were reports that Efrain Escudero would face Nik Lentz at the January event, but now sources close to negotiations say it's actually Jeremy Stephens that will likely face Lentz. No reason given for the change, but Escudero is expected to remain on the card.
Brad Blackburn plans UFC return in 2010

“I am going to be fighting in January or February,” he told MMAWeekly.com. “I already called them. I called the UFC last week. I said, ‘I can fight January 30th on.’ I’m trying to fight for a living now, and give it 100-percent. I’m not trying to be a spectator. I’ve been feeling like a spectator lately.”

(mmajunkie.com) If you're looking forward to Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort at UFC 108 on January 2, keep the excitement in check-it's still not official. According to Silva's manager Ed Soares, Silva has not yet been cleared by doctors to resume training following recent elbow surgery so there's still a chance the fight will be off. But we won't know for sure for a few more days.
Urijah Faber Not Happy With Dominick Cruz Acting Like An "Immature Punk"
(mmamania.com) As we all know, normally Urijah Faber is one of the coolest cats in MMA, always a good sport and not a punk, but even he can be pissed off. In a recent interview on Pro MMA Radio, Faber told host Larry Pepe that he does have a little history with WEC Bantamweight Dominick Cruz, apparently stemming from when they and other fighters signed posters for charity and Cruz signed his name over Faber's face on the poster-rather "immature". So although Faber isn't exactly being Donald Cerrone when it comes to Jamie Varner, Faber says he would like to drop to Bantamweight and fight Cruz at some point.

McCarthy Not Assigned to UFC 104
(sherdog.com) As if the CSAC wasn't in enough shambles already. Seriously I hope there is major outcry when a call gets blown this weekend.
Referee “Big” John McCarthy will be conspicuously absent from UFC 104 this Saturday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
“I contacted (the CSAC) and told them I was free on Oct. 24,” McCarthy told Sherdog.com Friday. McCarthy said he was later informed that he hadn’t been assigned to the event, the UFC’s first in California since UFC 76 in November 2007. McCarthy did not comment any further on the development.

Mousasi talks about prospect of facing Dan Henderson in Strikeforce
(fightersonlymagazine.co.uk) Gegard Mousasi (26-2-1) believes the prospect of Dan Henderson joining Strikeforce is an interesting one, but he is in no hurry to face the former PRIDE double-champion.
“I think if he would join Strikeforce that there are plenty of good match-ups for him, he would bring a lot of excitement with him,” he told Fighters Only tonight following days of speculation in the MMA media regarding Henderson possibly jumping the UFC ship.
And he added with a laugh, “I personally wouldn’t like to fight him, because if I fight a high-calibre fighter like Dan Henderson or a bum I would get paid the same, so there isn’t any motivation to fight a better fighter - although for the right money I would fight even Godzilla.”
Anderson Silva slams Vitor "betrayal"
(fightersonlymagazine.co.uk) Anderson Silva made clear in a recent conversation with Fighters Only that he is not impressed by the arrival of Vitor Belfort in the middleweight division. Anderson, well known for his constant refusal to fight his friend and training partner Lyoto Machida, is equally unimpressed by Belfort happily agreeing to fight him for his middleweight belt.
Asked what he thinks about Belfort’s arrival in the UFC middleweight division, he sneered, “Which Vitor is that? The one who trained with me, Rogerio and Rodrigo a few months ago?”
