Weighty Issues
(sherdog.com)
In a world full of high-caliber mixed martial artists, most will concede that Georges St. Pierre is at or near the top of the list when it comes to talent and ability. Since his introduction to the world of professional MMA in 2002, the 26 year old from St. Isidore, Quebec, has run roughshod over a litany of fighters considered the cream of the crop. Not only has he beaten them, he's also made it look relatively easy.

Werdum’s Title Quest Begins with Gonzaga
(ufc.com)
Ah, how many great stories throughout the history of the world have begun with a woman? Probably too many to count. Well, add the story of Fabricio Werdum to the list, and if one day he ascends to the heights of the UFC’s heavyweight division and straps a championship belt around his waist, somewhere in Brazil, there will be a woman wondering what might have been. Werdum will have no such daydreams though, and in fact, an early embarrassment turned out to be not only the impetus for his jump into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, but eventually, mixed martial arts, which has become a pretty nice vocation for the native of Porto Alegre, who faces old rival Gabriel Gonzaga in the UFC 80 co-feature on Saturday in Newcastle, England.

Employment, Not Promotional, Contract at Center of Zuffa v. Couture
(sherdog.com)
When Randy Couture (Pictures) announced his resignation from the UFC on Oct. 11, 2007, it seemed inevitable that the matter would be settled in court. The inevitable became official on Monday as Zuffa, parent company of the UFC, filed a complaint against Couture and yet to be named co-conspirators in Nevada's Clark County District Court. Perhaps to the surprise of many observers, the complaint makes no mention of Couture's promotional (fight) contract with Zuffa. Instead the company's breach of contract action is predicated on its employment contract with Couture. Very interesting to see the direction that Zuffa is coming at Randy here.
