Paul Kelly Has No Fear Heading Into UFC 99
Paul Kelly has just come out of a grueling training session with guys at the opposite end of the MMA weight class and although sore and full of bumps, he is chipper about his scheduled fight against Roli Delgado at the inaugural Bavarian UFC event. “Things are tough here at the Wolfslair, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am getting thrown around by people like Zach Light, Sean Salmon, Ricco Rodriguez, and Tommy Rowlands – who is the best wrestler I have ever seen,” explains the Scouse terror.

Yushin Okami Vs. Patrick Cote possibly in the works for UFC 103
We have recieved word from both, Patrick Cote’s camp as well as Yushin Okami’s camp that this fight has been brought to their attention, and that they both have verbally agreed. While it is a little bit early to hand out any type of fight contract, expect the fight to be signed by the middle of June. The fight is being aimed for UFC 103, with the venue un announced, but it goes with a rumored bout between Frank Trigg and Josh Koscheck. Yushin Okami, who is coming off a win over Dean Lister really needs a win if he wants to recieve a title shot in the future. The same goes for Patrick Cote, who is coming off a loss to Anderson Silva. Cote, who has been on the record stating that he would like to fight a top 5 middleweight to possibly get him a title shot, and a win over Okami will most likely put him in that scenario. Also interesting to note that both of these fighters are coming off injuries, so it will be interesting to see how both of these fighters rebound.

Maine Nearing MMA Legislation
The State of Maine is one of the last few dominoes left when it comes to legalizing MMA, but that particular domino looks to be teetering, as the Governor of Maine looks set to give the go ahead to MMA for the state: Legislation that would allow mixed martial arts fights in Maine has received all but final approval from lawmakers, and Gov. John Baldacci says he will consider signing the measure after his administration opposed a similar bill earlier this year. “The original bill had the Department [of Public Safety] regulating it, and there was just not the expertise and staff to handle it,” Baldacci said in an interview. “That is not what is called for now.” The measure passed by the House and Senate is a different bill from that crafted by the Business, Research and Economic Development Committee. The new measure would establish the Mixed Martial Arts Authority of Maine to regulate and promote mixed martial arts competitions, exhibitions and events. The governor would appoint the five members to the authority. The article details the opposing camps for MMA in the state, with one opponent of MMA coming up with this little gem: “Now, there are rules, but not rules created by the Marquis de Queensbury but [rules] by the Marquis de Sade.” The governor will now take the billl under advisement and speak with all parties before making a final decision on signing the bill into law, but the odds look great for getting MMA in this northeasten state.

Quartet of NFL vets to join Kimbo Slice on UFC's "The Ultimate Fighter 10" cast
I'm assuming that if the Kimbo news isn't a spoiler than this isn't either. The article goes into further detail on the four fighters. _________________________________________________________ At least four former NFL players have been selected to compete on "The Ultimate Fighter 10," a heavyweights-only season of the UFC's reality series that debuts Sept. 16 on Spike TV. The list includes Marcus Jones, Matt Mitrione, Brendan Schaub and Wes Shivers. Barring injury or any last-minute replacements, all are expected to join Ferguson, a former bare-knuckle brawler and YouTube legend who became the biggest star of the now-defunct EliteXC promotion, in the UFC's 16-man tournament.

''No Mistakes This Time'' Says Faber
"I slipped up last fight and I paid for it, and you can't afford to make mistakes like that," Faber commented. "That's the biggest part. For the most part, I'll be trying to implement my gameplan, and fight a great fight without making any mistakes." Still the loss can't sit well with the California native who has only tasted defeat twice in his MMA career.

Randleman on Training & fans & Whitehead!
Kevin “The Monster” Randleman – Back in the USA

PDG: What advantages do you see for yourself going into the fight? Kevin Randleman: I am faster, quicker and I believe that I am stronger than he is. I think I'm a better wrestler and I will be able to use my agility to my advantage. The bottom line is that I am not going into this fight taking him any lighter than any other opponent that I have ever faced. I thought I could beat Fedor Emelianenko, I thought I could beat Mirko Cro Cop, I think I am better than every fighter when I step in the cage and if I didn't think than way why the **** would I be fighting? I have watched a few of Whitehead’s fights and I know that he has been training with Wanderlei Silva but I don't think that his style is going to be that much different than in his previous fights. I think he is going to have a disadvantage though with his weight cut for the fight. He walks around at about 250 pounds and he is going to have to cut down to 205 pounds for this fight.

Diaz Talks Title, Smith & Japan
“El Diablo” Nick Diaz talks Strikeforce & Scott Smith

PDG: It is a pretty stacked card coming up on June 6th; are there any other fights on the card that you are looking forward to seeing? Nick Diaz: I think that the fights are going to be very entertaining for the fans and I am sure that a lot of people are looking forward to seeing the Jake Shields and Robbie Lawler fight. But I don't really look forward to seeing any of my friends fighting whether it is my brother or Jake Shields. I am sure that they are going to have great fights but it is not something that I really look forward to watching. I don't look forward to it any more than if I was watching a death match.

Al-Turk Offers CroCop 'One Of Three Options'
Where lesser men would still be looking at the phone in slack-jawed horror and hoping never to receive a similar call from the UFC again, Al-Turk's confidence is bounding. In fact so confident is he that he offers a succinct prediction for the June 13th fight. "One of three things," he says. "Either I bang him out, I submit him or I ground and pound him."

Marcus Davis vs. Dan Hardy bad blood boils over during UFC 99 conference call
And that’s when it snowballed out of control: Hardy: “I didn’t ask for anybody to post it anywhere. That was just the fans having fun. And if a 35 year old man can’t laugh that off — ” Davis interrupted: “That’s not true, you’re a liar.” Hardy: “No, I’m not a liar.” Davis: “I saw the form when you put it on there.” Hardy: “No, I did — ” Davis: “You’re a liar, ‘cause I saw the form, and then I saw after the pictures went on, I saw you go on there. I saw what you wrote. You wrote, ‘Hey guys, go put them on Sherdog and MMA.tv.’ That was your friggin’ picture by it, and you’re the one that put it on there.” Hardy: “That’s a lie.” Davis: “So don’t say that you’re not the one that asked them to go do that, ‘cause you did ask them to go do that.” Hardy: “No, I didn’t. No, I genuinely did not.” Davis: “Well then somebody’s using your picture and using your name, Dan Hardy, on that U.K. forum that other U.K. fans emailed me — that’s how I found the forum, they emailed me and said, ‘You have to go to this forum and see what he’s doing.’”

Yo! How ’bout Baroni vs Carano if Riggs is running scared?
“The guy no-shows to the conference call. I have been saying from day one: Get me a back-up opponent. I don’t think he is going to show up for his fight. His mouth is writing checks his ass can’t cash. He had big a problem on June 6. Then he opened his mouth, things have gotten personal; and he’s got a really big problem now. We’re all training, we’re all busy, no one wants to do this right now but we all did it because we’re professionals except that asshole. I just hope somebody else winds up in his spot. Put Gina Carano in there; I’ll fight her instead.” Former UFC and PRIDE character Phil Baroni, possibly the most amped-up man on the planet leading up to the Strikeforce: “Lawler vs. Shields” event, took opponent Joe Riggs to task for no-showing the media conference call he was expected to participate in.

Gary Shaw Reacts to Kimbo Slice's Inclusion on TUF10 + Dana Says There's A Special Contract Waiting If He Wins
Michael David Smith of AOL FanHouse gets the first crack at him and most notably (and he's probably on to something), Shaw thinks Slice is likely being handsomely compensated: Michael David Smith: What's your reaction to Kimbo going on The Ultimate Fighter? Gary Shaw: It shocked me when I heard, especially after Dana dissing him for two years and saying the nastiest things about him. So it surprised me, knowing who Kimbo is, that he would succumb to working with Dana. It shows that whatever comes out of Dana's mouth is not always the truth. Are you disappointed on a personal level? You put a lot into promoting and marketing Kimbo. Sure. I just don't think it's a big enough platform for him. I think it's a step back. I think he's bigger than that.

Michael Bisping could fight for a world title in Manchester, England
“Michael [Bisping] will fight [Dan] Henderson at UFC 100 in Vegas, and the winner will get a world title shot. And if that winner is Michael, we intend to take the fight to Manchester, just down the road from where he lives. Not only would Michael be the first Briton to win a world title but the first from outside the US, Canada and Brazil.”
