Anderson Silva may not retire after all
When he came out and we started representing him, I asked him what his long term goal was. He always said he imagined himself retiring at 35. That’s his goal. And my goal as his manager is to set him up financially so that he has a choice. Do I think he’s going to retire at 35? No, I don’t.”

"Completely new" Gleison Tibau seeks fresh start at UFCFN 17
It has been said that the definition of insanity is repeating the same actions over and over yet expecting different results. After suffering two-straight defeats for the first time in his career -- and adding injury to insult in a training session -- UFC lightweight Gleison Tibau (15-6 MMA, 3-3 UFC) was driving himself crazy. But heading into Saturday night's "UFC Fight Night 17: Lauzon vs. Stephens" bout with Rich Clementi, Tibau told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) he has reinvented himself in an effort to earn different results. "I changed almost all of my preparation," Tibau said through an interpreter. "I'm completely new."

Next Stop GSP. Alves Starts Preparing
Sitting cage side for possibly the biggest fight in MMA history, Thiago "Pitbull" Alves had the most watchful eye of anybody in the crowd at UFC 94. He knew that the winner would soon land in his crosshairs, being the No. 1 contender in the UFC welterweight division. Prior to the fight, Alves had said he thought Penn would win the fight, but he was rooting for St. Pierre because he wanted his title shot. If the Hawaiian won and held two titles, nothing was guaranteed. When it was all said and done, St. Pierre dominated Penn like no other fighter ever has and even Alves was surprised by the outcome.

Win or lose, Rich Clementi wants to scrap at UFC Fight Night 17
Win or lose, UFC lightweight Rich Clementi (32-13-1 MMA, 5-4 UFC) just wants to fight. Clementi is still sour over his October 2008 loss to Gray Maynard at UFC 90, and "No Love" refuses to have another disappointing performance when he faces Brazilian submission ace Gleison Tibau (15-6 MMA, 3-3 UFC) at "UFC Fight Night 17: Lauzon vs. Stephens" on Saturday in Tampa, Fla. "I will really, really, really be upset if I'm not really, really busted up or I'm going out of there with my hand up," Clementi recently told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). "It better be one or the other."

Dan Miller - Any Time, Any Place
You’d think Sparta, N.J. middleweight Dan Miller would welcome the opportunity, fists and all, to take a fight in snow-proof Florida. “I’m not really a warm weather guy,” he counters. “I like the winter.”

Chaos in Montreal: Strike Box Causes a Near Riot
This is a pretty hilarious story. James Thomspon and Steve Bosse were to fight under only stand up rules, but the commission did not approve the rules, they technically it was an MMA fight, but all the fighters said they just stand up.. Thompson doesnt do any of this and causes a huge riot with beer cans and chairs being thrown into the ring.. Read the story.. its hilarious..

Did ZUFFA drop the ball on women's MMA?
With Strikeforce recently purchasing the majority of ProElite, look for them to not only create a woman's title in the near future, but to continue signing top ranked talent in that division and put together fights that the fans want to see, namely Gina Carano vs. Cris Cyborg. If and when the WEC and Zuffa decide to pick up the woman's division, will it be too late?

Penn fight in which Vaseline was applied to the Canadian by one of his cornermen in between rounds, the UFC has instituted new policies regarding cut men and how the corners are allowed to enter during the breaks in between rounds for this weekend's Fight Night show in Tampa, Fla.

PPV Numbers Come Into Focus (UFC 91,92,93)
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter updates the numbers for UFC91 and 92, and portends of a strong number for 93: Update on PPV numbers. For UFC 91 (Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Couture), the show is at this point verified as doing 920,000 buys. It will probably end up just under or possibly just over one million when all late buys are tabulated. UFC 92 (triple main) is at 1 million. We don’t have a number for UFC 93 based on actual numbers, but trending data indicates about 320,000 buys, a shockingly high number, as it would have beat out the live UFC 90 from Chicago and been nearly 100,000 more buys than any prior U.K. show.

Most believe that Cain is able
It may seem absurd to suggest that a guy coming off knee surgery, and with only four professional fights, is all but a lock to be competing for the Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight title before the end of the year. But then, Brock Lesnar, the UFC champion, is a guy who won the title in his fourth professional fight, so it’s hardly out of the question that Cain Velasquez could have the belt around his waist before 2010 dawns. “No doubt about it,” UFC president Dana White says assuredly of the likelihood of Velasquez fighting for the title sometime this year.
