The UFC has decided to cancel an entire pay-per-view card after featherweight champion Jose Aldo was forced out of the main event with an injury.

I find this to be indicative of the greater conversation that has been building for months if not the past several years among those that have been watching things unfold for a long time.

UFC has watered itself down to the point that they lack feasible contingencies for circumstances such as this. UFC is making money hand over fist with this strategy and it makes the general product of their MMA worse as a result.

The weaker cards will continue with more cancellations if the good fights can't happpen, there is not reason for this too change if it is making the bosses money.

UFC 151 all over again. I honestly wouldn't have minded if they had just bumped up Mousasi vs Souza to the main event. That way the rest of the fighters could still perform. It's hard enough to make it as a fighter and cancelling events doesn't make it any easier on them financially.

they have plenty of cards to spread the leftover fights to over August & September so hopefully they can turn a negative into a positive & bulk up the other cards with these fights

Trujillo/Green has already been moved to FN 47 & Bazler Correia has been moved to 177

Makovsky/Formiga moved to Maine too. that card just got a massive upgrade

UFN 47 was in desperate need of some more good fights and they got two really good ones from this. Not too bad. I really hope Mousasi/Jacare II gets rescheduled. That's the one I care about most on that card.

Only the second time in history this has happened in the UFC iirc.

Feel bad for the people who were going to this event.
As a fan watching from home I don't really mind this alternative. At least now these fights should get rescheduled for some later cards and we can still see them.
I think Mousasi/Souza as the co-main in Sacramento would be perfect.
Looks like Aldo/Mendes will either be rescheduled for 178 or 179

I was going to this.

I am beyond pissed off.

I got pissed off friends wanting their fucking money back
Now it's gonna take days or even a week to get my fucking refund back to pay them.

They were new fans of the sport. They already said they won't go if it does go back to la later this year.

Jesup fucking Christ
Ufc wake the fuck up already

400 fighters and no one worthy of a main event
Didn't they learn anything from 151 which also I had tickets for

Worst fucking year ever for ufc
No wonder they are losing fans

Looks like it'll be UFC FN50

Good thing they don't bother signing guys like Askren who could've stepped up with another willing welterweight. Hard to believe they couldn't find a FW or a BW with balls or even get Mendes to do a superfight at 155.

aussiemma » Posted 1/27/12 10:34:00PM

This kinda sucks for the fans who have already got their tickets etc.

I hear a lot about watered down cards and that is true on one hand but for me at the same time I'm enjoying all these extra cards. It's kind of 50/50 for me. It's just good they can re-schedule the fights. I was looking forward to green vs Trujillo big time.

Dana needs to heave some cash at Nick Diaz. In a world where fucking Marquardt and Te Huna main evented a card how can they not save this card?

prozacnation1978 » Posted 7/5/07 11:42:00PM

Ufc fucked me good.

Got off the phone with axs. Will be two weeks before I get that money back.

I won't even have it for my ticket next week to pay for Sacramento.

I got friends wanting their money back Now
I gotta tell them they won't get it back for two weeks

machodog76 » Posted 6/26/07 10:37:00PM

I have to admit, I'm kind of happy about this. Now I don't need to pay for a PPV for the rest of the summer. My wallet thanks you Mr. Aldo.

im not saying it doesnt suck, but you already had planned on being without this money, so being out of pocket for 2 weeks is what was going to happen anyways, so a refund isnt bad.

also, you mentioned this happened to you once before with 151. So you knew the risks involved. It's not your 1st go around.

Also, youve been to how many events? & they fucked you twice? Be happy you can go to this many & be happy youre getting your refund. They didnt fuck you. They just inconvenienced you.
