Dana White: 'I used to beat the living s--t out of Tito¬†Ortiz'   [View Full Version]
prophecy033 » Posted 7/4/07 4:41:00AM

Dana White might be (mostly) done with the boxing business, but that doesn't mean he doesn't still love the sport. White treated the media on Wednesday to a screening of his new boxing reality show 'The Fighters', which will air on the Discovery Channel on January 23rd. After the screening, however, White took questions from the media and addressed an old incident with former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz.

Does anyone remember him ever looking busted up during a ufc event or promotional event? I question if he was actually doing all the things he mentioned in that article. Then again, Tito never was the best striker so it actually does have an air of belief to it.

I remember watching the leadup. Seeing Dana's face when he heard the news that Tito didn't show was priceless. I was rushing home from work to watch when I turned the tv on and saw that. I was pretty pissed as well

I've never known Dana to lie.

Side note: Dana is really close to signing Brock

If what we saw at UFC 40 was Shamrock beat the living death out of Tito, then yeah I see how Dana would "beat the living shit" out of Tito

He knows he'd shit himself if Tito ever tried to get his hands on him. I'm no Tito fan but if the two of them met on the street and went at it I'd have no doubt Tito would smash him.

Even with a cracked skull, bruised ribs, pinched spine, kidney stones, a cold, and a broken heart.

I don't know how much of this is true. I kind of got the feeling that Dana took it really serious and Tito didn't. so it was more of a joke for Tito not to show up because he probably never wanted to fight Dana in the first place. kind of a stupid situation IMO

The reality is that Tito's boxing is shit and always has been. Dana can box Tito can't. I
think Dana would have won, I thought so at the time and I still do.

Dana was a boxer before getting involved in MMA and trained for years before moving to Vegas. He seamed very honest in what he said Tito would kick his ass in MMA fight but thats not what Tito asked for. Tito wanted a boxing match against a guy who was hands down better at boxing.

I cant remember where I read it but there was interview years ago when when Tito was avoiding fighting Chuck. Tito had claimed he didn't want to fight Chuck because they were both friends. Chuck said in the interview that Tito was avoiding him because Tito knew he couldn't take him down and Tito's boxing was bad. Chuck said hell even Dana beats up on Tito when they box.
