Soa Palelei picked up his first UFC victory despite carrying broken ribs into his fight at UFC 164 on Saturday night in Milwaukee.

Oddly enough, I was most interested in this fight on the card because I had some serious real money laid on Palelei, due to the fact that Krylov is widely underskilled. This was definitely a throwback fight of two guys fighting with no gas, limited talent, and all heart. Obviously, the broken rib was documented throughout the fight, although Soa has never shown great cardio so I really have no idea how the fight would have deviated if Palelei was 100% and the if the fight would have lasted past 3 minutes.

Krylov more than likely has the absolute worst wrestling by far in the UFC, at times it looked as if Palelei merely fell down on top of him instead of actually taking him down.

Part of me still likes these types of fights, as you saw two guys soldier-ing on and continued to fight when it looked like they couldnt even breathe.

I loved this fight. I was laughing, in hysterics, rooting for Palelei to be a stool quitter, wanting Krylov to pour it on. It may not have been technical but it was very exciting to watch, sloppy brawl, the kind of fight whereby they only kept fighting after 8 minutes because they signed a contract to say they would. They'd have hugged and called it quits there and then in the bar or in the car park but no, they kept going and somehow! There was a finish, just as we thought Soa was gonna get finished, somehow Soa came back!

"Storms back into the UFC" is pushing it. "Narrowly wins the worst fight of all time" seems closer. Not really his fault what with broken ribs and all, but still.

I liked this fight. Hw's gas after 2 rounds, and they kept a high pace along with not giving up, or just hugging to tie up and burn the clock.

Those guys gassed during the walk to the cage.

That fight looked like it took place underwater, I didn't see anything that resembled a high pace.

You could get a sandwich in between the time when a punch started to be thrown and its moment of impact.

They probably could have pulled some people out of the crowd who would have put on a better show.

It was embarassing.

This fight was hard to watch imo. Neither of these guys adds anything to the ufc.

Hated the fight, but was amped during that last round. Never cheered so hard for such a lazy set of finishing shots. Soa has been waiting for this moment for a while. He better be in better shape next time or he'll get tooled, bad rib or not.

I hope he does quit. Krylov, too. That fight was hard to watch.

Much like what else has been said, I saw virtually nothing that looked like technique, endurance, or really anything related to martial arts. But I did see a very slow bar fight

UFC may just cut both of them
Who knows

They aren't UFC material. I wouldn't blame them.

My initial thought was who in the hell let these 'Bellator HW's' into the CHAEL-FC?

Me taking on a mop and a garbage can would be a more interesting fight than those two.....

Though, I did like the Al Capone nickname

Whoever these guys pull for their next fights will probably get a great finish though...give Sao to Mir and give the Russian to Vera.
