The bout hasn't been booked yet, but Anderson Silva has already opened as a small favorite over the man that just took his UFC middleweight title, Chris Weidman.

Well thats just strange. But I do think Silva will have learned from his mistake.

This is going to be an EPIC rematch but if Weidman wins again Anderson fans will have some fuckin reason as to why he shouldnt have lost.

Glad he's only a small favorite. Hopefully the odds change and Anderson becomes an underdog.

My bankroll could use the easy money.

I understand the anticipation of a rematch and everything, but why exactly are they already opening odds for this fight? Anderson basically stated he doesn't intend on really addressing the possibility of a rematch at the moment because he wants to take 3 or 4 months off to spend time at home relaxing with his family at the post fight presser if I remember right. It just seems like it's jumping the gun to already have the odds makers doing their thing. Personally, if Silva intends to take that length of time off I think it's easier to book Weidman vs Belfort while we wait to see what Silva wants to do. After everything we've seen in the past couple of years, I, personally, am tired of seeing entire divisions in a log jam while we wait for one party involved in a potential title fight to be ready. Let's keep this thing moving. TRT Vitor ain't getting any younger, and I personally don't want to see him have to wait roughly a year (assuming Silva takes the full 4 months off + 3 month camp+ time winner needs to recover from potential injuries sustained+3 month camp for Vitor fight) on the side lines just to get a crack at the title.

Now that my whole spiel is out of the way, I think it's understandable that Silva is a slight favorite should such a rematch occur. He is still the GOAT after all. A lot of people still picked Fedor as the favorite in every successive fight after his first loss in however damn long it was (a decade I believe).

That's just what oddsmakers do. Anderson/GSP odds came out over a year ago, even though the fight never matured beyond talk.

Silva didn't kick Weidman's ass and then eat a haymaker. He was absolutely destroyed easily in every aspect except maybe weak leg kicks.
