Let me see him finish someone important, then maybe I will be able to hear him talk about someone important.

Stylistically I think the only person with a chance is Melendez. His chin, wrestling, speed and footwork made the first fight razor close and that decision could have gone either way.

That said you can never count Maynard out. In the top 10 I think he's been a sleeper for a long time and he might posses power takedowns in the first 2/3 rounds to rattle the champion.

I think Maynard is the biggest threat to both of those guys, he's quick, has better wrestling and hits like a truck at 155.

Maynard is old news bro. TJs gonna flatten that dude easy peasy.

As for Diego... The Dream is dreaming if he thinks he can make one more gold rush

Still banking on Pettis if he returns to LW for taking Bendo's title.

No more title runs for you man

SamPan » Posted 2/17/09 12:13:00AM

I think Ben would dominate Diego.

But hypothetically, what would happen if they fought an even fight? Between the two of them, they've been handed plenty of questionable decisions (Frankie I, Frankie II, Kampmann, Gomi, etc.)

SamPan » Posted 2/17/09 12:13:00AM

As for contenders at LHW, I don't think Maynard's much of one - or Grant for that matter. I think Melendez, Pettis, and Thompson pose bigger threats to Henderson's crown. They're the few who can match Henderson's athleticism.

Sanchez is right, that title is there for the taking. The only problem is that the judges won't allow it to happen.

If Diego wants that belt he needs to step up and stop leaving his fights in the hands of the judges, although that recently panned out for him.
