Is it just me or does this make Bendos win THAT much more impressive ?!?! He won despite being down a judge lol. Its true what they say you CAN'T decision Bendo.

How'd they miss that one?

It would be incumbent on the judge to bring something like that to the attention of the commission. The commission can't know every relationship of every official. Generally speaking, an official should report any affiliation or relationship to a participant and the commission would assign a different official to prevent a real and/or perceived conflict of interest.

Behhh...we've also seen other decisions/judges scores go haywire without any affiliations.. I don't think that matters. Even if Gil had one, I wouldnt be terribly surprised..we've seen more out of this world absurd judge scoring

Plus people in MMA, or any industry for that matter, are naturally connected to others in the same industry in many ways. I bet if you dug deeper you'd find other "affiliations" between judges, refs, match makers, etc... it's normal

I'm still wondering what the officials were wiping off Diaz's arms and body before he could enter the cage.

regardless of having haywire judging in the past, this puts doubt in peoples minds as to whether or not it was on the up and up

In mma time that was centuries ago, plus its all about what happened lately & that is that Bendo has become the king of controversial decisions. Move over Leonard Garcia lol

prozacnation1978 » Posted 7/5/07 11:42:00PM

The fight was too close.

jae_1833 » Posted 7/19/07 11:27:00AM

It was a close fight and his judging wasn't all that off...no big deal, but something to have an eye kept on so it doesn't become an issue for sure!

bootyclause » Posted 7/26/07 9:02:00PM

I saw it for Gil. 1st and 5th for him, 2nd round close. Bendo just isn't that impressive in some of these fights.

Scoring the fight for Gil wasn't controversial in any way whatsoever. I hate when there's a super close fight and people declare their opinion as the absolute "truth" of what happened. It was basically another draw in a LW title fight.

Shawn91111 » Posted 9/21/07 2:56:00AM

Had it been the other way and the Judge had an affiliation with Henderson, you damn well know Cesar Gracie would be throwing up a lot of shit about it.
