Well...one of these two men addressed the issue with poise and intellect. The other sounded somewhere between mega douche and ultra douche.

He tried, but he came across as some sort of war monger...too bad, I love war!

Gonna go out on a big limb here that Chan Sung Jung is Korean and Chonan is Japanese. I know, I know, big stretch.

Holy s#!t! what a prick, could you imagine if a German said something like this about the Holocaust?

He literally told him he doesn't care about the Holocaust and his country has better things to worry about in context of the two situations.

Still, Chonan over Anderson by 3SUB at UFC 162.

I can see both sides of this issue. A symbol only has power when you give it power.
On the other hand, Chonan denying his country's history never happened is not going to solve anything. It's an obvious bias when you believe Japanese nationalists over accredited historians, and pretending it never happened is not gonna win the Japanese any points.

Japanese atrocities in WWII > German atrocities in WWII

WOW!!! Just about all I can say. I can only hope there's some major loss in translation regarding Chonan's statements. I'm not going to judge the situation by giving my opinion, because admittedly, I'm not much of an educated scholar on the whole situation. But, from what I gather, this was a huge mistake on Chonan's part spouting out nonsense out of anger. I agree with the previous poster's sentiments regarding the hypothetical of a German commenting in this manner towards the Holocaust. Pride (whether individual, group, or country based) should never supersede human decency.

How can you compare and claim one was worse than the other? I'm not trying to sound like a dick or anything, but I've never heard anyone say What Japan did was worse then Nazi Germany or vice versa.

I guess what i'm trying to say is what tip's the scales to Japans atrocities?

Ryo needs to swallow a chill pill and relax on the ethnocentrism.

Likely the fact that the Japanese military actions were conveniently struck from any history textbook or book in general. In terms of people forced into situations they would never put themselves in tney both topple the quarter million mark which is insane nowadays.

This, and also the German commanders never ordered mass rape be used as a weapon
