UFC vet Jacob Volkamnn signs World Series of Fighting deal   [View Full Version]

A week after his UFC release, veteran lightweight Jacob Volkmann has found a new home in the MMA world.

Volkmann (15-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) has signed a multi-fight with the upstart World Series of Fighting promotion. MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed the deal, which MMAFighting.com first reported.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

According to MMAFighting.com, Volkmann is likely to debut at WSOF 3 in April. The events, which feature a mix of big-show vets and prospects, currently air on NBC Sports Network.

i never have had much for Volkmann. if he's not fighting a name, i doubt i'll tune in to watch.

Good signing. He's a solid fighter, that will win some, and lose some. He's a name, albeit not a big one, that may get a few more views for the WSOF. Secondary league here we come

Volkmann?? Outta the dozen dudes who got cut last week why would they sign the least exciting? I wanna see Etim, Vlady, Che, Nunes, Russow!!! Shit even Fitch would have me tuning in.

Outside the UFC he's going to win a lot more than he'll lose.
