Rampage Jackson: UFC lies about its pay-per-view numbers   [View Full Version]

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton Jackson was unhappy with the way he was being treated leading up to what may have been his final fight inside the Octagon, a unanimous decision loss to Glover Teixeira at the UFC on FOX 6 event last weekend in Chicago (see it here).

But you knew that.

What you may not have known, are some of the specifics of his complaint against the Las Vegas-based mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion, which "Rampage" tells MMA HEAT is "taking advantage of its fighters" while "cleaning house" in the pay-per-view sales...

Someone tell Rampage to shut his Damn mouth. He's trying to paint a picture that probably isnt true at all. Hes doing this on his way out, so it makes it look like the UFC actually treated him bad. Tell him to take his 13 million and good to hell. Enough is enough of him already.

I think it is a little crazy that they can hide these numbers. If you are paying people a % of what you sell you should have to report those numbers IMO.

He just... Won't.... SHUT THE FUCK UP.

I knocked out Chuck and someone booed me.
I keep fighting people that use wrestling.
I tried to become an actor and Dana called me a bad name.

And the list goes on...

I heard Rampage is changing his name to Tantrum

They don't release the number publicly. Being a private company affords them the right not to. Every fighter that gets a PPV cut knows what the numbers are though...AND has the right to an audit. It's in their contract. If Rampage really believes what he's saying, he has the legal right to challenge what the UFC payed him. I think he just likes to run his mouth though, so I doubt we'll see that.

Eh, I kind of agree with him. There's no real proof but I always assumed the UFC added some numbers to the real PPV buys. Why wouldn't they? The "we just say that to the press" wouldn't be that much of a shocker.

If they added buys to the real number they'd have to pay fighters more than they're required to.

Rampage is accusing the opposite.

He's saying its one or the other.

Either they lie to the press to be impressive OR they lie to the fighters to short change them. He claims the UFC claims that they lie to the press and are honest with the fighters.

If this was true Zuffa would be getting sued by their fighters.

TeamDEY » Posted 2/1/11 3:41:00PM

Can Rampage just leave already.

LightsOUT23 » Posted 12/26/11 6:25:00PM

Didn't Couture go through this money issue with the UFC when he left after recapturing the HW crown ? Seems like Rampage is at this stage now.

Would love to see the evidence

Ufc is proud of their ppv buys I don't see them tampering with them
