Bellator MMA kicked off its run on Spike TV with a highly technical and entertaining title fight, but given the depth of the featherweight division, Bellator Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney ruled out the possibility of an immediate rematch.

I don't see any reason for an immediate rematch. It was close but Curran won it for sure imo.

Agreed, immediate rematch won't be enough time for Freire not to eat straight and jabs. Let him get a few more fights in a turny or w.e. imo

If Straus wasn't there waiting for a title shot, I bet they'd make a rematch. Unless Rad and Shah Sham resolved quickly and could fight Curran soon.

same here as well. i thought the rounds that curran won were a definitive win. and with him coming on really strong in the 5th i just dont think there needs to be a rematch. i didnt think that fight was a split decision, but hey, these judges are always questionable.

I'm with you all.

Fight was close but not at all controversial.
