Posted 4/8/07 11:45:00 Kurt Holobaugh may have come out on the short end of a decision loss to Pat Healy on Saturday in his major-promotion debut, but it won't keep him out of the UFC. Holobaugh (8-1 MMA, 0-1 SF) dropped a unanimous decision to Pat Healy (29-16 MMA, 7-1 SF) on the preliminary card of "Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine" in Oklahoma City, falling with a pair of 30-27 scores and a 29-28. But Holobaugh apparently did enough to impress the UFC brass that he should get a shot there now that Strikeforce is no more. The Louisiana native has signed a UFC deal, sources close to him on Tuesday confirmed to MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) LINK _______________________________________ |

Posted 7/5/07 6:21:00PM Kurt put up one hell of a fight against Healy. I'm glad the UFC is giving him a shot but, I dont think he will be around long the LW division is to stacked |

Posted 2/24/11 9:26:00PM One and done. Probably use him as fodder for one of the weaker TUF dudes. |

Posted 6/6/12 1:54:00PM I like this idea. He did come in on short notice and put up a good fight. If he had a full training camp he actually had a chance in the Healy fight. If they give him to one of the lower tier TUF guys he will not be 1 and done. IMO |

I disagree. He put on one hell of a fight on short notice against a grinded veteran. There's no shame in losing to Healy who also holds wins over Hardy, Daley, Condit. IMO he'd run through a lot of the TUF talent. |

Agreed. It's not like he lost to Jorge Grugel

He's dropping to Featherweight apparently. Hopefully he can find some success there. _______________________________________ |
