Posted 2/22/07 12:49:00PM link This week Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic announced he is currently planning on retiring when his contract expires following 4 more UFC fights. His next fight will be on September 8th in London at UFC 75. |

Posted 2/3/07 5:57:00AM This pretty much guarantees he won't be getting a title shot anytime in the future. Damn it. |

Posted 5/27/07 4:09:00PM why? he has 4 fights, if he wins his next figh which will be against someone with a name, then may fight someone like big nog, then boom he's the #1 contender with 2 fights left. |

Because Dana and UFC have had too many problems in the past with vacated titles. If Cro Cop were to win the title defend it once and then retire it will cause too many problems (Bustamante, Pulver) _______________________________________ |

Posted 5/27/07 4:09:00PM Well Mirko fights for 2 reasons, pride, and money. He's clearly a verrry smart man(if you know his current position in croatia you know what I mean) I'm certain if Dana offerd him the right price he would sign on for a few more fights. |

You are probably right on the mark there. But unless the contract gets renegotiated Cro Cop almost certainly will not get a title shot before his current contract expires. It's not the way it should be, I know. _______________________________________ |

Posted 1/30/07 1:49:00AM if he gets a shot and wins the title he might still fight... he said he plans on retiring....NOT he IS GOING TO RETIRE. so there is still hope. |

Posted 2/3/07 11:32:00AM Not surprised. He said after GG that "he will complete his commiment" Hinting that was going to be it. He's also said he wanted to return to Special Police full time after his term in Parliment is over. Would be nice to see CC-Fedor 2 before he's done. |
