Biggavelli » Posted 10/26/12 7:44:00AM

The Brazilian news source Tatame is reporting that Thiago Tavares and Khabib Nurmagomedov have signed to face each other in January in Brazil. The location for the card has yet to be determined, but it is slated for January 19 and will air either on FX or Fuel TV.

Tavares (17-4-1) has won two straight and four of his last six with a draw thrown in there vs. Nik Lentz. He scored a decision victory over Sam Stout earlier this year after finishing Spencer Fisher in 2011.

Nurmagomedov (18-0) is 2-0 since joining the UFC, defeating both Gleison Tibau and Kamal Shalorus this past year. He has six knockout and seven submission victories to his credit.

Huge fan of Khabib and this is a good test for him, I think this will be an awesome fight, not sure how it goes down but will be interesting.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is a beast. He has looked good since entering the UFC. This fight makes for an interesting match up but I'm feeling Khabib Nurmagomedov by unanimous decision.

Wouldn't that be wild if Khabib went 0 for 13 on takedowns, landed his strikes at a much lower percentage, and was significantly outstruck but STILL won a decision 30-27 on all 3 cards?
