Posted 1/16/08 9:55:00PM Holy crap, awesome fight. I've become a big Jamie Varner fan since he's made his return. Even in a losing effort to Lauzon, he put up a great fight and even had Joe in trouble for a while. Both guys are good on the feet. Should be a fun fight. Oh yea, it's FREE!!!!! |

Posted 8/10/11 1:23:00AM Holy shit this is an awesome fight. Two of my fav lightweights in what should be a barn burner. The only part that sucks is that someone has to lose. |

Posted 7/5/07 6:21:00PM Good fight. I got Melvin taking this one but Varner has surprised me before. My gut tells me Jamie cant handle Melvin's early power I'm going Melvin by KO/TKO |

This, hopefully. Cant stand Varner and he seems like he should be so likable. I'm sure after they fluff melvin with a few more advantaged matchups we'll be told hes titleworthy again

Posted 3/10/11 4:01:00PM Wow I really like this fight... Varner has actually gotten serious and looked pretty good as of late but I doubt he wins the striking with Melvin... |

Posted 9/24/10 8:39:00PM I can see this fight going the same way as Lauzon/Guillard. |

This. Maybe Varner plays it smart though, and takes the fight to the ground right away, staying away from Melvin's power. _______________________________________ |

Posted 3/24/07 5:29:00PM Melvin will have the speed advantage, but Varner's boxing is no joke. If he has retained the confidence, I could see him fighting smart and pulling out the win. |

Posted 2/3/09 4:31:00PM man, what a fight this is! the lightweight division is definitely my favorite division because it's the deepest, most talent-rich division in the ufc. gotta love silva for the ongoing great matchups. hope varner gets the win, but don't think he'll be quick enough for guillard. if varner can use his wrestling, even if he doesn't get the takedowns, it can force guillard to think about what he's gonna do next. so it could be much closer than we think. |

I'm thinking Varner by sub as well. He can take some punishment and on the ground he definitely has the tools to finish Guillard. The biggest issue will be getting it there but Guillard throws wild punches and eventually I see that doing him in. _______________________________________ |
