Posted 8/14/11 9:31:00PM The Ultimate Fighting Championship has been holding its Ultimate Fighter finale and Las Vegas-based Fight Night events at The Palms for several years. In fact, the UFC has held 15 events at the Palms since UFC Fight Night 9 in 2007. That all came to an abrupt halt this year with the announcement that the TUF 16 Finale would shift over to The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in December. The move appears to be related to UFC president Dana White’s personal relationship with the Palms, according to a Monday report by Norm Clarke in the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Clarke cited unnamed sources indicating that White’s credit line at The Palms was cut in half a few months ago, leading the UFC president to pull all UFC-related events from the Palms. LINK |

Posted 1/24/07 7:00:00PM It irks me at how much power Dana has over the UFC.

Posted 6/29/07 12:28:00PM depends if that credit line is tied to the UFC. the article just said dana's line was reduced and i am just wondering if that is actually tied to the UFC. But damm Dana is a crazy good tipper; it said he drops 100k to dealers. |

It said 10k and that was for dinners, I'm sure the dealers would get chopped out a nice tip as well, especially if he is up! |

I read a report on bjpenn.com where they said he has tipped dealers 100k before http://www.bjpenn.com/dana-white-stops-doing-business-with-the-palms-casino-following-50-reduction-in-his-gambling-credit-ufc-news/ |

Posted 2/24/11 9:26:00PM MMA will never be considered a legitimate sport with Dana at the wheel. Am I the only person disappointed about this? I don't think Stern or Goodell would ever pull shit like this. Then again they probably wouldn't call journalists fags too. |

Posted 1/17/07 2:43:00PM "So it’s unclear if the move is solely due to White having a beef with The Palms or if the UFC saw the credit line move and other factors as an indicator that The Palms could no longer provide the necessary hosting support for UFC events." ^^^^^ This is what one should have taken from the article. |

yea its not like goodell would suspend players then get those suspensions overturned in a court of law and goodell would then say screw the law and still up held those suspensions... oh wait, he did that just ask the saints players. not to mention it is widely reported on how much the players hate goodell. I personally think goodell has done a good job but nobody is perfect. not to mention stern has had is flops with the media too. UFC is mainstream as it is worth over a billon of dollars not mention only dickhole boxing media ppl and politicians say mma is not a sport. Yes Dana is far from perfect but no one is and dana has done a damm job of turning a dead company and sport around |

He's the president of the company....he has no more or less power than any other president of a company, and I really don't see how this could possibly be turned into a knock against Dana. The UFC isn't under contract to the Palms so if they are going to cut the credit of either the company or its president, he's well within his rights to change venues. The Joint has almost double the seating capacity of the Palms as well, so as a fan why would you not be happy about the change? |
