Posted 8/14/11 9:31:00PM Sources close to the fight confirmed to MMAWeekly.com that verbal agreements are in place for the bout, which will co-headline the card featuring a heavyweight main event bout between Daniel Cormier and Frank Mir. Lorenz Larkin receives the next shot at Luke Rockhold after winning his middleweight debut fight over Robbie Lawler in July. LINK |

Posted 9/24/10 8:39:00PM Don't get me wrong I love Lawler but a win over him shouldn't push Larkin ahead of a rematch with Souza. Must be something going on behind the scenes. |

![]() I saw this headline and was wondering if I somehow missed the rematch. Now that I think about it though, I actually don't mind this matchup. Seeing a champion take on new challengers and an old champion fight his way back to the top is refreshing. In my opinion it makes every fight that much more entertaining and that much more marketable. Hopefully Souza gets another fight to keep active in the meantime. |

Posted 8/10/11 1:23:00AM Are Roger Gracie and Souza friends or do they train together or anything? If not i'd love to see that number 1 contender match for the winner of this fight. Which btw is actually a fairly interesting fight, however Rockhold is a beast right now so i see him taking it. |

![]() I agree that it's refreshing but I also understand how this and the Healy match ups make SF look weak. But with Rockhold as a champ it is going to look that way unless they bring him new talent. After Edgar and Penn etc a rematch is the last thin I want. |

Posted 4/8/07 11:45:00AM Rockhold/Souza 2 needs to happen whether it be in Strikeforce or the UFC imo. There is definitely unfinished business there. That fight could definitely use a more definitive ending. _______________________________________ |

Agreed. I love his style. Even picked him to beat Jacare first time out. |

No minority here, bro. I think he just needs one more finish and plenty of people will pile on the Rockhold wagon. I like the kid a lot and think he could be top 10 if not better in the UFC. On this matchup: I am also surprised that Souza isn't fighting, but I agree with P$ that a change of pace with defences against different guys is a good thing. |
