Posted 9/21/07 2:56:00AM In light of the recent mess that was the cancelation of UFC 151, we still have yet to see the end of the aftermath. Not too many people came out of this looking great, except maybe Chael Sonnen, the unlikely "hero" in this story. Some people have come out of this cast in very deprecatory ways, few more than UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones. In a recent article from The Wrestling Observer (Subscription required), there's yet another piece of information that will add fuel to the Jon Jones fire: Jones was very upset after Chael began calling him out and mocking him on Twitter, going as far as to contact White and ask him to tell Chael to stop Even if you're an avid Jones supporter, it's hard to cast this in a positive light. Sure, it may not always be fun to be the butt of ten thousand Chael Sonnen jokes, but that's not something you can just ask Dana White to stop. It just seems childish for a professional athlete to respond so oddly to a little bit of heat from a possible competitor. Also from the article, we see more of Jones, as his recent appearance on a radio show is analyzed, and what Jon said makes him look like a hypocrite: LINK |

Posted 1/18/12 9:29:00PM Jon Jones will lose his mojo after this. Belfort will KO him, Machida will KO him next, then he goes up to HW, where Cain ragdolls him into retirement. |

Posted 9/17/07 10:04:00PM Wow, just a never ending parade of Jones blunders. The question is, has Jones always been this ridiculous, or was the DUI just the beginning of Jones' downfall? |

Posted 5/25/12 8:57:00PM If I were Dana I would say, you had you chance yourself to have him stop calling you out and you blew it. Now lay in the bed you made...Just add fucking between every third and fourth word. |

Posted 7/26/07 9:02:00PM Chael is not a top 10 LHW and has no claim to a title shot whatsoever. If they put him in the general mix he will not beat any of the top guys. Almost a zero chance he beats a bigger wrestler like Rashad or Davis....or a Machida. At best maybe he leg humps Rampage, Forrest or Shogun to a 29-28 snoozer. WWE antics only go so far, he deserves nothing. If I was Jones I would not take that fight either. Vitor did not deserve the fight either but is a good person and makes it a totally different scenario. Its a case where Chael's talking had the opposite effect of what he wanted. Jon Jones has no duty at all to take any fight on 1 week notice. He's arguably the best fighter ever already. You would never see Manny Pacquio or Mayweather even asked to take a fight against some guy outside the top 10 in their weight class on a week's notice. Dana claims to not like WWE style nonsense but makes his whole org all about crap like this. Shameful. I used to defend Dana a lot on the forums but he is really a despicable person. |
