Whats funny is I would bet everything I have that Vera wants no part of Jones and I am sure Shogun isnt really all that thrilled of a fight with Jones just for teh belt...Shogun would prolly want way more money to step in the ring...

This is only the case if Shogun wins. There is no way Dana gives Vera a title shot, even if he wins this fight.
All Dana meant was that Shogun gets the next shot. Vera has no chance in winning this fight, Dana knows this but he can't go out and plain say he gets the next shot.

Wish, too bad Veras cardio and explosiveness are super weak at 205. Would be a cruiserweight champ if it was around 210-215 pound class.
I cant figure out why it drains him so badly.
IMO, it has more to do with his reflexes. At HW, he could benefit from a general edge in quickness over everyone to compliment his stand-up skills. At LHW, he's still moderately fast, but he doesnt react quick enough to pull the trigger against faster opponents.
I preached for years that he shouldnt go 205 because his edge at HW was speed, well roundedness, and extra cardio. At 205 he has none of those edges and HW is much improved over the reign of Timmy and Couture.

UFC 76 I think. Liddell's loss to Jardine was difficult for The Axe Murderer and The Iceman to make their bout as super as it once seemed. (And coincidentally, Shogun got upset by Forrest Griffin in the co-main.)

This is a damned joke. First off Vera would be given the same chance as Shogun is just stupid. Secondly they are just handing a title shot to Shogun. Why even have the damn fight. Just announce him the contender. Beating Vera PROVES NOTHING. Thirdly the Machida/Bader fight is a much better fight and a win for either is a much more admirable win than beating Vera. Plus they have both been trounced by Jones too so they are no better or worse than Shogun. Shogun should have stepped up to face Glover. Id give him 1000 times more credit that this farce. Now he ducked his way into a title shot? A DAMNED JOKE I TELL YOU! The only good that will come from this is that once Shogun loses again he can move on to Stirkeforce as he will be in the Rich Franklin zone at 205 in the UFC while Jones holds the belt forever. F*ck Shogun!
