Posted 12/17/07 8:56:00PM "Jon Jones is a great champion, but me in my prime, I was devastating. I was vicious. Nobody could stop me. Of course I could beat him in my prime Jon Jones is in his prime now, so you compare it to something like Ali v Tyson in boxing. You'll never know because it's two different generations. I don't ever want to talk smack about Jones because he's a great role model of the sport but in my prime, I wouldn't count myself out - that's for sure. I would never disrespect him. It'd be a very close fight, a decision. But in my prime I was the best in the world." Link _______________________________________ |

Posted 6/21/07 4:27:00PM Which Jon Jones, though? The younger one when he was first on the scene? Maybe Tito could have beaten him, but I doubt it. But, the Jon Jones now? Don't think so. I don't think Ortiz in his prime could have beaten Jones at any time. Ortiz was a 1 dimensional fighter when he was in his prime, takedowns and GnP. Doubt he could get Jones down or keep him down. Ortiz was at his best when guys could get away with being 1 dimensional. Hughes, Ortiz, Liddell. |

Posted 7/4/07 4:41:00AM Tito is day dreaming. He's trying to show that he would be as dominate as Jones and to me that's for the era he was champ in he was a beast but to say that you could take on and beat the guys of this era is

Posted 10/20/09 3:33:00PM I hope he brings that fu manchu to the octagon on Saturday ![]() I think prime Tito has as a better chance than most people think. He wouldn't fear getting hit when he shoots for a TD (like Evans was), and his TDs were very effective. We haven't really seen Jones fend off a strong TD attempt, nor do we know anything about his guard game...and we know how great Tito's gnp was back in the day _______________________________________ |
