Officials with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, which oversees the Florida Boxing Commission, on Tuesday confirmed to MMAjunkie.com that judge Ric Bays, whose score was read as 30-27 for Rocha, had scored the fight in error.

Good. I wish they corrected that the night of the fight though.

So is it getting switched or what??

If so will it effect the fantasy game?

I only ask cause I had pierce by UD and of course we all know it went differently

I sent a PM. I know MM/McCall was able to be changed after results were entered. I'm sure we'll know shortly.

Changing the results when they are properly announced at the post fight presser is one thing. But this is quite the other. I picked Pierce by split decision, so obviously I am biased there. But are the mods then going to take away my W for picking Peralta over Semerzier? I'm pretty sure I still have that.

How will scoring be done in the future? Will we have to wait even longer for the PG to be updated due to potential post fight announcements? Will all results, updates and standings be deemed preliminary until a week after any events?

Slippery slope. Until Vegas lets me cash in a pay slip that was deemed a winner after a scoring error was announced, I don't think the PG should change their scoring.

When this happened in the past, as it was an addition error, with Demetrious & McCall it was changed from a Mighty Mouse win to a Draw and about half the site lost 11 points. It was announced at the post fight presser but `after` Vegas had shut down for the night and paid out on the bets, so really the timing makes no difference from a Vegas angle between these two fights. When the commission changes a result months later for whatever reason it's different than someone adding wrong and I believe the only time it's happened before was MM/McCall I and it was removed from picks days later, again costing half the site 11 points but even though I was part of that loss of points, it was the right thing to do.

I get the Vegas point, but an addition error isn't really comparable to a ref missing a clash of heads and the commission going through a full review process and voting to overturn months later. Going on past precedents, I'd imagine it is changed to a UD. Many bookies and some sports books offered money back on MM/McCall I just like some bookies/sportsbooks let those who bet on Pacquiao keep their money. Vegas changes rules to make things right too.

I don't care one way or another, but just giving a different perspective.

That's insane, I had never heard of those instances. That's a stand up move from those respective books.

Well the act is a stand up move but the reasoning is because they're not the largest sportsbooks out there and it's awesome publicity. Irish sportsbook Paddy Power just refunded all bets on Manny. And we never would've heard of them if they hadn't. I guess the refund publicity is basically an investment in advertising as much as it is a good gesture.

A little late.

I'd say just leave it.

I try to have faith but honestly with the mistakes I have seen lately I am no officially positive that I am smarter than MMA judges.

Appreciate the heads up Kpro. Since it basically comes down to a clerical error we are going to change it. One problem though. The site won't let me do it yet. I updated the pick and that went through, but it won't let me rerun the stats. I left a message for DTMath. I'll let everyone know if it's possible when he gets back to me tomorrow. I'm pretty sure he is bed right now.
