Del Rosario vs. Miocic added to UFC 146, main card remains all heavyweights   [View Full Version]

Next month's UFC 146 event will keep its all-heavyweights pay-per-view main card.

After Gabriel Gonzaga (13-6 MMA, 8-5 UFC) recently took a vacant slot against Roy Nelson (16-7 MMA, 3-3 UFC) on the card, Shane Del Rosario (11-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) was left without an opponent.

However, fellow unbeaten Stipe Miocic (8-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has stepped in as a replacement, UFC president Dana White today announced via Twitter.

UFC 146 takes place May 26 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. In addition to the PPV main card, which features UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos vs. Frank Mir, FX and Facebook carry the preliminary card.

I was hoping for Browne or meathead

Still a okay fight.

I would agree with Browne, but he seems more in line of getting a bigger opponent after the Mutton Chops fight.

Meathead would have been a good choice as well, surprised he hasn't had a new fight lined up yet.

Happy to see Stipe get the nod though, should be an exciting fight!!

WAR Stipe

I'm glad they were able to save the all HW main card. Should be some finishes and, in turn, some decent highlight material. Really looking forward to it.

Awesome fight! The card is still great too! This is a pretty tough fight to pick but i'll go with SDR

Hell of a replacement, I like this fight a lot.

Makes sense and it will be a good fight but I don't like having young-guns against each other...they are both on the rise

Stipe by murder.

Murder???

Beating Beltran and De Fries doesn't prove anything, not to mention Miocic didn't look good at all against Beltran...Miocic might have a Golden-Gloves background but Del Rosario was a Muay-Thai champ and has a great ground game.

It's definitely a great fight. And I too think it'll be pretty close. Del Rosario has a major disadvantage though. He's coming off that car crash and hasn't fought in over a year. Miocic however has had 4 fights since Del Rosario's last fight. He's looked good in doing so as well. He's only got a month to prepare for this though.

This is a very compelling fight when you break it down.

I would have liked to see Browne or Rothwell get on this card to build on their momentum but Miocic is a monster. I hope they show all the prelims cause this card is stacked.

This fight got alot harder to pick. Rosario would have murdered Gonzaga imo.
