Mar 20, 2012 - Tito Ortiz will conclude his heated trilogy with Forrest Griffin at UFC 148. Ortiz announced the bout late Monday night via Twitter.

The 37-year-old Ortiz campaigned vigorously for a final meeting with Griffin, and is expected to retire following the rubber match.

UFC 148 is scheduled for July 7, 2012 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card will likely be headlined by another contentious trilogy, as The Ultimate Fighter 15 coaches Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber square off for the UFC bantamweight title. Also featured are middleweight bouts Rich Franklin vs. Cung Le and Michael Bisping vs. Tim Boetsch, as well as a bantamweight clash between Renan Barao and Jeff Hougland.

Part of me wants Tito to go out on a high and then into the hall of fame but I never really want to see Forrest lose. Given that Forrest is to carry on fighting it would also be better for him to win for obvious reasons.

A couple kicks to TIto's midsection from Forrest and this fight is over along with Tito's career.

I just dont want to see this fight! Griffin vs Phil davis would be much more appealing to me! Ortiz vs Vera, anything except this match for a 3rd time!

I thought Tito's retirement fight should have been Rich Franklin but whatever.....Forrest will put him out on a loss.

Personally i'm pretty amped for Griffin/Ortiz 3. Rooting for Tito all the way.

I definitely can't be mad about this fight happening. Their first two fights were nothing short of entertaining, and I don't think this one will disappoint either.

I have no desire to see this fight *or* either fighter.

So far, nothing about 148 interests me outside of Barao destroying Hougland.

Lately, Forrest has been clamoring for the easy fights....ask and you shall receive.

Both fighters were pure rank in their last respective fights and should concentrate on training other fighters in my opinion. Nothing at all about this fight, or either fighter, makes me want to watch this or any other fight they may be involved in in the future

I haven't felt any love for Griffin these past few years but I hope he's smart enough to just go in and destroy Tito's midsection with knees.

If Forrest Looses this fight he should tak e a look at retirement as well
