If you were left begging for two more rounds after Jake Ellenberger's thrilling three-round victory over Diego Sanchez, you weren't alone.

Following Wednesday's UFC on FUEL TV 1 event in Omaha, Neb., UFC president Dana White admitted he "blew it," and all future main events will feature five rounds.

"Already thought and done," White told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). "I'm actually pissed at myself about it, so yeah."

Don't know why they thought they should make Fuel/FX main events only 3.

I'd rather take two more rounds than an extra fight.

i really hate alves/kampmann & gustafsson/noguiera are only 3 rounds, but at least it's getting fixed

I really didn't understand why they did this either, considering how amazing the non-title 5 rounders have been up to now.

Maybe they were just scared of having a 25 minute lay and pray fest on a big network. Bad call either way IMO, glad he realized that.

I thought it was FOX's call to not want 25 minute headliners on their FX/FUEL broadcasts to be honest. Didn't know it was the UFC that decided against it after announcing they'd all be 5 rounders pre-FOX deal.

Especially when there are awesome fights like Ellengerger vs Sanchez

Smart move Mr White, another 2 rds of Sanchez & Ellenberger would've been epic as hell. At least he realised the flaw and acted on it.

I would have loved to see how another 2 rounds would have played out especially with Jake getting up and exchanging bombs with Diego in the final few seconds.

So I was right - Diego was robbed.

Robbed? Bit melodramatic, no? He clearly lost R 1-2, and thus the fight.

I believe he's saying Diego would've benefitted should this have been a 5 round fight like main events are supposed to be. Not that he was on the wrong end of the decision.

Ellenberger may have been on the losing end of R3, but i wouldnt go so far as to say he was going to lose the fight.
yeah, diego was still in it, but that doesnt mean diego would have won

I'm not saying Diego would have won. I'm just saying a 5 round fight would have given him a better chance to win because he is not a quitter.

Agreed. Not to mention the fact that it appeared that Ellenberger was started to fade a bit. Whether or not that was the case, we'll never know, but it certainly appeared to be the case imo.

Then again, he would've trained his cardio differently for 5 rounder as well.

Bottom line...we'll never know.

Diego has cardio for a 50 minute fight, 25 minutes is fine for him. Ellenberger I worry about, especially if he is fighting for the interim title next
