Two exciting featherweight prospects are set to clash at UFC 143.
Officials today announced that Erik Koch and Dustin Poirer have been inked to meet at the Super Bowl weekend event, which takes place Feb. 4 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and airs live on pay-per-view.
Poirer requested the fight after very recent win. Both fighters are undefeated inside the octagon.

I'm excited. I wasn't expecting them to fight so soon, but it should be one hell of a fight since these two are making some heat in the division.
I think I have to go with poirier, but I would be surprised if it ended any other way than a close decision.
This fight deserves main card love!!
Kochs a little more rangier fighter than Poirier but Poirier is definitely a sparkplug. Im not too sure if Poirier is able to take him down out at will but I think it should be good striking battle one where I think Koch should be able to out strike him.
Jason Young's striking technique was effective against Poirier's brawling nature and I think Koch could as well, and especially has a better chance to defend takedowns better than Young too.

Dustin Poirier explained in an interview with Ariel Helwani that he believes he's gonna make an impact on the division because he works really hard and hes sacrificing a lot. He didn't "call anyone out", he believes a fight with Erik Koch would be exciting so he asked for that. Its called confidence bro.
Good Fight. Pretty tough pick, but as of now i would probably lean toward Koch.

Yeah and post fight interview with Joe Rogan hes apologizing for not finishing the fight sooner...Thats cocky as hell if your opponent is standing there...
