Playground Pound for Pound Camp   [View Full Version]
crazylondon » Posted 11/15/08 3:09:00PM

I dont know if the question has been posed before, I assume it has, but I was just wondering if the question has ever been asked if we can get a pound for pound category that pits everybody against everybody in addition to the divisions we already have.

I like the idea. I know we've talked about it a little on our Fight Camp board before, and I went through one season and verified we would've been first in any division, but it would be nice if it was sorted. I don't know how difficult it would be though as I've stepped on more laptops than websites I've worked on.

p4p all-time I'd give to Team KY. They ruled the most wild west division for two seasons, and the duo of Gannon and npayant would be among the top guys at any camp.

But how can you really rank a 2 person camps. Add more people, thats more opinions, more people going off the right pick and instead picking for who they like etc, and thats more likely the score, pick % and wagers drop. But Team KY was good yes.

This is true. But that doesn't negate the value of smaller camps.

I found out really quick, starting out at or below .500 for my first few events, that picking who you liked or who you wanted to win is not how to be good at this game. It's hard going against your heart, and maybe that is something some people won't do. If that's how a person picks, that may not be a person you want in your camp.

RE: the thread topic though, I like it. Keep the weight classes, but just add a tab for an overall, or "pound for pound" camp ranking.

It does seem biased against large camps but it is all in good fun so why not.

Yeah, I was just mentioning it to see season to season which camps have been standing out. In addition, I know that the smaller the group the easier it is to keep group consensus and thus a higher pick %. On the other hand, smaller groups generally have to rely upon the points of view of much fewer individuals, and the chance at missing something that could alter the outcome of the fight are increased.

If you're going to do it, you gotta do it with 2-3 man teams too. It's only fair. Sometimes they win, sometimes they don't.

And yes Kpro, Last season we were the Anderson Silva.
