Posted 4/19/08 6:24:00PM Most Bantanweights aside from Faber are not known to most casual fans, so I think a move up to fight Jose would be awesome and then a re-match with Urijah (who shoud join Jackson's camp) would be a good idea. |

Faber runs the Alpha Male camp which is arguably the best camp for 145 and under. He's not going to Jackson's camp. _______________________________________ |

Posted 6/21/07 4:27:00PM Jose will kick the crap out of Cruz's legs. Jose is prolly much faster too. Interesting match though. As I can't think of any BW's beating Cruz, but would like to see him and Torres fight. |

Disagree Cruz moves too much to be getting kicked in teh legs same with Guida both would have great chances to beat Aldo Especially Guida would take Aldo down... You cant sit in front of a guy like Aldo which every opponent has done..>So Cruzs style would defintiely bother Aldo...And personally as smart as Cruz is I see him taking Aldo down....Hominick showed the blueprint of how to beat Aldo....I would take Guida definitely...Cause he knows wrestling wins and has the camp...as for Cruz we will see.. |

Posted 1/16/09 11:38:00PM it would be a good fight, Faber tagged him a few times, but no one has been able to put pressure on Cruz yet, due to his fast and undpredictable footwork. If anyone could beat Cruz, it's Aldo. however he could get outpointed as does everyone else. I think Cruz is a great fighter, but i always favor great fighters who are well rounded and can finish. He should use his bjj as the means to end his fights. Until I see Cruz finish as much as Aldo, I think Aldo would prolly win and is higher up on the p4p ranks as a result imo |

Posted 3/8/08 5:44:00PM It would look much like Shogun/Machida 1 only Aldo would get the finish. |

Posted 4/8/07 11:09:00PM That would be an interesting fight, although if Cruz gets hit the same way he did against Faber by Aldo, he'd be in big trouble. _______________________________________ |

Posted 4/8/07 11:45:00AM I think Aldo would eventually catch him and finish him but it would be a great fight. _______________________________________ |

Like my dad always used to tell me, the problem with being seen as the baddest guy in town is that everybody wants to fight you to take the title. Given the proximity weight wise of the three classes, it makes sense that Edgar and Cruz want to fight him. There are a lot of people who rank Aldo above edgar and cruz, myself included, on the P4P list, and as a fighter of those guys caliber, they want to prove that they are the best in the world. However, that said, I think Aldo is a bad match up stylistically for both of them. Edgar's tendency to stand and trade with people for a couple of rounds before using his wrestling to start mixing things up when his opponents aren't expecting the take down would be his demise. As seen with Faber, Aldo only needs to land a few leg kicks to completely take your base and everything needed for wrestling away from you. Without the potential threat of the take down, and his footwork no longer an issue, Edgar wouldn't be a threat to Aldo anymore. Cruz fairs a little bit better chance than Edgar imo, but I think that he is too well rounded to beat Aldo. Look at all the premier fighters in any weight class and imo you'll find that there are guys that excel in one area, and are good in most of the areas. Cruz isn't great at anything, which means that he doesn't pose a huge threat to aldo in any one area. Plus, if you ask me, Aldo's head movement would allow him to slip Cruz's punches as he comes in, and his lightning fast leg kicks will catch Cruz before he can get out of harms way, and once it takes it's toll on Cruz's movement Aldo will start picking him apart and finishing him. Of course that is just my opinion, and I am admittedly a HUGE fan of Aldo's so I may be too biased to see things clearly. That said, I think both fights would be great, though I think the Cruz vs Aldo fight is more intriguing. |
