Posted 4/8/07 11:45:00AM Undefeated lightweight prospect John Makdessi (9-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) will have to wait a little bit longer to get back to action. MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has learned from sources close to the event that Makdessi has been forced to withdraw from a planned UFC on Versus 5 contest with Paul Taylor (11-6-1 MMA, 4-5 UFC). An undisclosed injury is said to be the culprit, though Makdessi's manager, Mitch Mayberger, was unavailable for comment when contacted by MMAjunkie.com. Posted 12/5/07 12:38:00PM Yeah, this is unfortunate, was looking forward to this fight. Props to Makdessi and his management for at least making the call early enough for a possible replacement. Hope it's not too bad and that he's back soon enough. As for the replacement, I hope they get another solid striker. Sam Stout just finished up at 131 with little damage taken, he's always been game when it comes to opponents, and he has plenty of time for a full camp. |
