It appears that Gilbert Yvel's latest stint in UFC is over. Although there has been no official announcement from UFC yet, Yvel reportedly has been removed form the promotion's roster following an 0-3 run in UFC, and he's only 1-4 in his last 5 overall fights. This followed an 8-1 run from 2006-2009 that helped him get back to UFC.

This makes sense. Yvel hasn't looked great in the UFC. It also might have only been a matter of time before we Yvel smashing refs and innocent bystanders, which sucks. I would have loved to see Dana try to explain why Yvel bite someone or knocked a ref unconcious lol. WAR YVEL!!

You can't be serious.
I didnt expect UFC to match him up to get grappled to death, but I guess you've got to evolve your game. Would have liked to seen him match up with someone that would just stand and trade with him, like Pat Barry.

Well, you have to think of it this way, someone who can't last longer than 1:48 on the ground with Jon Madsen doesn't have what it takes to make it in the UFC. Besides, Junior Dos Santos stood and traded with him, and ended up dominating him.
This is understanable but damn I was just hoping the UFC would have matched him against CC. Would have made a good co-headliner for a fight night.

But yvel vs kongo or gonzaga would have been nice
Glad to have seen 2 of his fights in the ufc live
But I did pick against him in all three of his fights
I mean could have given him more strikers instead of rothwell and madsen but I guess he stepped up to fight madsen.

I know what you mean. There where diffenently so interesting match ups for him but what can you say?

not a big suprise to me. he fought like crap vs wrestlers imo, and needs to take grappling serious.
He got ktfo in a fight he should have lost by unanimous decision. Pack your bags son.
