Well, I feel bad for the current UFC roster...I doubt they'll be getting many fight of the night bonuses with the lighter weight classes around...
Those little guys KNOW how to put on a fight!

Am I the only one slightly disappointed? I'll miss WEC. They always put on stacked cards and exciting fights when big brother (UFC) sometimes puts on lackluster events.

As long as the fighters from the WEC keep the excitement going, I'll be fine.

There's no guessing who will win all the FOTN awards now.

WAR WEC!

I guess I'm the only one that doesnt like this. I liked that the brands were seperate. Now we might see some exciting WEC fighters get cut sooner now that they are in the UFC.

Don't get me wrong I want to see the super fights but I don't want to see some of the good fighters be cut.

Plus I mean if you look at the WEC cards recently they have been outstanding and there goes that.

Might not see some WEC stars for free because they might be on the PPV undercard, but could see possible double title fight PPV's.

I love this...to me it completes the UFC as now it covers all the normal weight classes in the world....from 135 up to 265.....there are very few fighters (outside of asia) that fight effectively at lighter than 135, very few. I also wouldn't mind a split of HW to include a Cruiser div, then add on a SHW Div, but that's a LONG time coming for there to be enough competitors to flesh it all out. Ialso think it's good for the guys in the WEC to step up in competition...the LWs that is....they can either make the grade or truley get sent to the little leagues, and the FW and BW guys will get what they deserve as well now that they are considered in the big leagues by the norm of society. Expect a lot of decently big named guys from the UFC's current LW Div to make the cut to BW soon!!!

Im interested in who's going to drop down to 145. Clay Guida maybe?

Damn this will be good and bad, good for the fact that the cards should be stacked now. Bad because I imagine the lower level guys in the WEC and UFC wont see the light of day. UFC gatekeeper league needs to happen....jr. league whatever you want to call it.

This totally opens up the door for the smaller LW's in the UFC.

I totally forgot about 55er's dropping down. Florian? Edgar if he loses?

I just miss WEC because it was like the minor leagues in baseball.

See, this is why I think this is a good thing. The Featherweights and the Bantamweights weren't given the respect they deserved, because people thought that the WEC was the UFC's developmental league. Now people will give them their due, if only because it says "UFC" on the marquee.

Man that's a good blow to the secondary league no WEC and DREAM prolly going down soon.

I love this. Finally guys like Aldo will get to shine to the casual fans. Some great fights can come out of this too. Maybe smaller guys can attempt a move up or down. I could also see a guy like Faber bulking up for an exciting fight at lightweight.

I am not paying for two or three 50 buck pay perviews each month

Just stack the cards. And have more versus and fight nights on each month
