Dan Lauzon has been released by the UFC following a loss to Efrain Escudero, his second in a row, at UFC 114.

Joe Cavallaro, a friend and business partner, confirmed the news. The promoter of World Championship Fighting had Lauzon under a promotional agreement when he fought locally and has helped the East Bridgewater native along the way.

“His contract was terminated. He’s just got to go back and get more experience. Dany is very very young guy,” said Cavallaro. “He is a tremendous fighter. He needs to get the right training, the right camp and get a handful of wins again.

lw division is deep. I liked his fight vs Cole Miller a lot.

Not suprised I think he needs to get in with a good full time camp away from his brother hell away from Boston if he wants to make a living at this. He is talented but his dedication is the question.

I don't expect to see Dan Lauzon ever return to the UFC.

I don't expect to see Dan Lauzon ever return to the UFC.

He's way too young and talented not to be back in the UFC near the top. If he and Joe imo get in with a good camp those are going to be some dangerous dudes. I'm never going to count out the Lauzon's and hopefully this loss to a heck of a fighter in Efrain so we will see.
