DCRage » Posted 8/3/07 12:38:00PM

The Heat will not be on in Strikeforce anytime soon. Former UFC Welterweight Karo Parisyan will not be going to Strikeforce to continue his career as a proposed deal is off. The proposed deal called for Parisyan to fight at "Strikeforce: Los Angeles" on June 16 against an opponent to be determined. SF CEO Scott Coker confirmed reports the proposed deal has been shelved.

I could imagine this meeting. Karo and Coker sit down for coffee and Karo wants a deal similar to Shields. Coker says no. Karo gets up and yells "Do you know who I am, bro???"

completely disappointing. im a big fan of karo, the guy always puts on a good fight when hes able to get into the cage, but his issues run deep and i dont know if we will ever see the fighter with so much potential again. its really just sad, but this is nothing new in sports.

To be fair his potential died when he learned nothing new for his entire run in the UFC. Just polished his judo.

Well I dont think SF has a big budget with fedor and the signing of hendo. Plus karo should not except big money with his struggles lately.

I agree with Seanfu, I am the hugest Karo fan but, honestly, he really never did improve his game. Those personal issues must run pretty deep.

And he still owes the NSAC some money from that fine a while back, but Keith Kizer said they'll proabbly only go after it if he fights in the US again. I have to verify how much he still owes but I think it's $16,000.

He would've fit right in with Strikeforce and that is not a compliment.
