Posted 6/3/08 9:39:00AM Forrest Griffen Versus Lil' Nog In May Bout Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Forrest Griffen has announced a potential matchup with Antonio Rogerio Nogueira could take place as early as May. Forrest is coming off a split decision win over Tito Ortiz, but had suffered back to back losses before that bout, one of which came at the hands of Anderson Silva, one of Rogerio's training partners at Black House. |

Posted 3/8/08 5:44:00PM I think Forrest's ring wear has caught up with him, he hasn't really looked the same ever since losing the belt, he's taken a lot of abuse in a short span of time and sure he's got stamina but he doesn't look explosive anymore. I think Forrest is at least as good as Lil Nog on the ground but I think Lil Nog's boxing is going to force Forrest to take him down, and that is where I really think Forrest has lost his explosion. Rogerio by decision I'm thinking. |

Posted 1/22/10 6:24:00PM I don't know about the ring wear mentioned above... consider that Forrest and Lil Nog both began than mma careers during the same year of 2001 and Forrest barely has more fights on his record. I think they are quite evenly matched. While I do think that the loss to Anderson Silva set him back a bit, Forrest is a true fighter at heart - he won't back down, and I think he will push and push until he's better than before. He'll come back, he always does... and I think a challenger like Lil Nog will bring it out. Looking forward to this fight!! You my boy Forrest! |

I disagree. I think forrest is basically the same fighter he has been for a few years. People just severely overrated him when he got a bad decision to win the belt. He's good, but he's still ultimately a pretty sloppy brawler who over-commits to his strikes. "since he lost the belt" is also only 2 fights, with one of them being against Anderson Silva, who destroys everyone, so I don't see how anyone could make an accurate assessment based pretty much solely on his Ortiz rematch. |

Posted 1/16/09 11:38:00PM Lil Nog's boxing looked really good vs Luiz Kane. and I expect Nog to ko Forrest in the 1st round. Forrest drops his hands when he punches and kicks imo. I hope Forrest wins tho. I really admire fighters with a lot of heart. |
