Yeah I agree with a lot of you all here on Big Tim. He should score a KO somewhere in the second as soon as Mariusz starts to run out of gas, lets not forget Tim's experience, reach and boxing advantage here! Tim should definately head to SF after winning so that he can get his career back on track.

We have seen The nasty looking Tim Silvia get knocked out by a middle aged ,washed up, ex pro boxer with one punch. We have also seen him nearly get knocked out with one punch by all 225 pounds of Randy Coture, and taken down by Coture. Whats going to happen when Mariusz lands a punch, or gets his hands on Tim? Pudz is going to either KO him standing or just Ground and pound the living hell out of him. I think Tim Sylvia is awful anymore and I think he would loose handily to any of UFC's and Strikeforces HW's.

Sylvia has faded to the point where Mariuz should be able to win soley on the fact that he's the better athelete.

Tim doesn't hardly train anymore, and spends most of his time hunting. And from the looks of his physique in his last couple fights,he's been doing a lot of sitting in tree blinds and not a whole lot of hiking.Mariuz is 280 pounds of fast twitch muscle fiber, and the dude probably has never been out of shape in his entire adult life.

5 years ago, this wouldn't have even been competetive.Sylvia would have KO'ed Mariuz in short order,or at least made him look foolish for 15 minutes in a jab fest. Now,he's probably going to get power doubled and smashed inside of a buck fifteen.

Brian.

I like Sylvia and I'll always tune in and watch his fights, but he's a flat footed counterpuncher who is used to bullying smaller fighters around, it's not going to happen to such a strong individual, there is only so far technique will take you.

I don't understand how everyone thinks Sylvia sucks because he got KO'ed by Ron Mercer.

If Ron Mercer hits Brock Lesnar clean, he'll KO him as well.

It was Mercer's only chance in winning and he got it.

Other than that Sylvia gets wrecked quickly by Fedor, and loses via flash submission by Big Nog.

How could you say he sucks?

imagine if a guy that strong got good at jui jitsu.....scary thought.

(Thankfully) False. He's reportedly next fighting in May in Poland.

Even though he has looked like a tub of **** lately and been stopped pretty easily in his last couple fights, I like him and wanna see him get back into his groove. He's had one of the best UFC heavyweight careers, a multiple time heavyweight champ and some big wins.

and +1 if I can.

People forget how scary the old Tim Sylvia was so quickly. I mean yeah I know he's a goofy looking SoB and his style certainly wasn't the most sexy, but this is a guy who stopped Ricco Rodriguez when he was dominating everyone including winning in many portions of the fight against a prime Big Nog. Love him or hate him he won a bunch of fights as a UFC HW and most of them he won via huge KO's.

I actually think Sylvia has over 20 (or close to it) career KO's
