Herschel Walker happy with MMA debut ... even if he never fights again   [View Full Version]

You’re going to be shocked by this, but [the pressure did not bother me at all]. There was no pressure and the reason why was I really thought the people at AKA prepared me for it. The fighters at the gym, everyone there, they prepared me for this. What I had to do was just go in the ring and do it. I’ve loved (MMA) for about four years. This isn’t something I just decided I wanted to do.

Herschel put on a decent performance and i was surprised his opponent was more game than i expected him to be. not a bad fight for an old guy just stepping in to fight for the first time.

my favorite moment from the fight was when both fighter stood up and herschel had nagy by the head and the whole crowd shouted "KNEES!!!!!!". Walker definitely had the crowd behind him last night!

Walker didn't do too bad for his first fight. I liked how he kept pinning Nagy's arm with his knees and landing punches. He also showed good posture from the mount and avoided a few sweeps and subs.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in the playground is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no props, and may the mods have mercy on your soul.

His stand-up wasn't much to be proud of, but he can definitely strike, his ground game was scary to watch but he has excellent body control and he did a good impression of old school MMA. I hope he fights a few times, I'm open to watching him fight again.

I havent seen such a frantic pace since houston vs kimbo

Walker is the epitome of class

walkers a true professional. i dont see any down side to him fighting. if you look past the actual fight and focus on what a guy like walker does for the sport you'll realize why SF signed him. im a true MMA fan i want to see the best for the sport even if it means i have to watch an old guy fight in slowmotion once in a while.

I think he should fight again, even if it's against an opponent like Nagy who is only 1-1 or 2-0, whatever...Walker brings fans to the sport b/c of his background and donates his entire paycheck to charity...so he's a good guy to keep around for Strikeforce, IMO.
