DCRage » Posted 8/3/07 12:38:00PM

After the Florida State Boxing Commission declined to approve Yohan Banks as an opponent for Bobby Lashley at the Jan. 30 event, "Strikeforce: Miami," the promotion has come up with another option. Journeyman Jimmy Ambriz has been targeted by the promotion as a late replacement for Banks, and the matchup is now waiting on approval from the FSBC.

So this will end up being a Super HW fight? Ambriz is listed at 315 lbs.

It would almost have to be...or catch weight/openweight. Almost no way "The Titan" could safely cut 50 pounds on 2 weeks.

I always thought using the term "journeyman" was a polite way of insulting a fighter.

Update: It's on...or is it? Ambriz has been approved, but SF may still scratch Lashley. Paperwork hasn't been distributed.
