Newly crowned UFC welterweight champion Matt Serra (8-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) will face former champ Matt Hughes (41-5 MMA, 15-3 UFC) in his first title defense, according to UFC president Dana White in Saturday’s post-event press conference.

It makes sense... if he loses to Hughes then he didn't deserve the belt in the first place.... but if he beats Hughes then everybody will have no choice but to respect Serra.

Even if he loses to Hughes he deserves respect. He made GSP tap due to strikes, that's a pretty good accomplishment. GSP is no joke.
I personally think Hughes is going to beat Serra by boring GnP, but I hope Serra taps Hughes out from the bottom via armbar or triangle choke.
