The upstart Shine Fights organization is still doing a last bit of holiday shopping, and the organization's latest signing has earned them a "Snowman."

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has learned from sources close to the promotion that Jeff Monson (31-9) is Shine Fights' newest addition.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, though it is believed to be a multi-fight contract that would still allow Monson to take additional fights outside of the organization.

Jeff Monson has always been one of my favs. very underrated. wish he still fought in the big leagues (ufc, strikeforce)

I think with a bit of focus he could get back to the UFC. He has had a lot of out of the cage issues as of late and i just want to see the Snowman damaging limbs soon! He is a very legit fighter that noone gives proper credit to...IMO

I had heard he was headed to Strikeforce and possibly dropping to 205. This is definetly dissapointing news.

His problem has always been with tall strikers who use they're standoff distance well, if they stand and bang Jeff has the opportunity he needs to clinch or take them down, then he is a real threat.

I like Monson, but he's physically limited based on his build. Compact and powerful guys have a certain advantage on the ground, but standing up it is a huge disadvantage. Especially as these huge wrestlers with powerful hands and great TD defense continue flooding the HW division
