MMA Roundtable: What's Next for Tito Ortiz and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira?   [View Full Version]
MaxOne » Posted 7/26/07 3:12:00PM

Looking back at this past Saturday's UFC 106, SI.com's Ben Fowlkes and I discuss the hot topics coming from the big fights.

We look at what the future has in store for Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz, worthy opponents for Georges St-Pierre, Amir Sadollah's performance against Phil Baroni and the next step for Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

what I dont understand is why we are mentioning these 2 in the same sentence. 1 of the above shocked the UFC viewers by KOing an undefeated fighter, and the other had a shaky first fight back after a long lay off. Give Tito time, he will re adjust, and as for lil nog, man, the skys the limit for him

they are pretty much discussing the whole event.

I wouldn't mind seeing Ortiz/Griffin coach TUF then fight a 3rd time. I would just love to see the 3rd fight period. I think the last one will come out unanimous as both of them now have a more fresher feel for each other. If not Forrest again, I'd love to see him fight Chuck in a 3rd one since hes planning on coming back, be a great comeback fight for both of them, or give him the Rashad/Thiago Silva loser.

I'd say the Rashad/Thiago silva loser too for Nog or Jardine. Nobody too big because with Anderson still rising fast at LHW and Machida still the champ, I dont see him getting a title shot anytime soon so just slowly build him up so once it's his turn. It'll be huge.

if it was up to me Tito wouldn't fight Chuck, Randy, Griffin or anyone (lyoto, shogun, rampage, rashad etc. )in title contention next.
If he is physically capable of competing then he should fight at least a couple guys working their way up. If he beats them cool, he gets a win against somebody other than Shamrock. If he loses he helps draw some attention to some other guys. I doubt that he's interested in that :)

If he and Griffin are going to fight again after being coaches let it be after this next season of TUF so they can both fight a couple times before their rubber match.

Nog just needs some more fights period. It'd be nice if UFC fans were more aware of him before throwing him into the title mix although I think he's ready...the reality is he doesn't want to fight Machida so he could be the guy people need to get through to get to Machida

Shoot, let him fight Tito or Griffin :) that'd give him some recoginition.

I'm simply confused..... They referred to Tito Ortiz as a Hall of Famer....???
Royce Gracie, Ken Shamrock, Dan Severn, Randy Couture, and Mark Coleman are the only fighters in the UFC hall of fame....
