Tito Ortiz vs. Rashad Evans 2   [View Full Version]
chickmagnet » Posted 7/5/07 2:53:00PM

Assuming they win their next fights, which is likely, what do you think would go down in a rematch between these two?

Rashad has grown as a fighter since then, and has basically changed his style, from an average stand-up fighter with great wrestling to a very diverse and fast striker, who uses his wrestling in reverse. It was after the Ortiz and Bisping fights where Rashad evolved into more of a crisp kickboxer, he showed up against Liddell as a striker with great timing and technique.

Ortiz really hasnt shown any evolution since he had the title. He is working on his boxing with Freddie Roach, but I see Rashad winning a decision or finishing Tito if they were to fight now....

Tito outworks him again and this time gets the decision. I think he'll be able to outwrestle him against and do decent on the feet.

I think Rashad would take it Tko. Tito is on the down side dosn't have very good striking Rasahd will be too fast and will out box him.

Im with Nate, Tito grinds out the decision. This could be a fight that gets put together imo.

I would take Rashad via decision, Tito can take a lot of punishment and his wrestling isn't as good as Rashads so I think Rashad will be able to stop Tito's takedowns and let his hands go and hurt him a lot.

Fedor is the G.O.A.T

WHAT!!!! You do know right the reason Tito should have won the fight if not for that point being deducted is because Tito outwrestled Rashad? He took him down constantly, maybe not all the time but he took him down numerous times. And Rashad even tried to strike with Tito that time. The main thing thats scary about Rashads stand up is that he has scary KO power with crazy speed. But Tito's good at not getting hit with one huge punch. It takes some heavy combos like from Liddell to put him down and I don't think Rashad will throw several punch combos without getting taken down or being afraid to get taken down. So Tito can survive on the feet and not get beat up bad enough so he can steal rounds with wrestling. Thats atleast my opinion on the fight.

This would be an interesting match. Rashad is a much improved striker and Tito claims he is back to his best. Hard one to pick but I'd probably go with Rashad.
It would be a good test for Tito to see where he stands in the division.

This may be the one time I would be glad Rashad didn't fall back on his wrestling base. It's Tito's main game and Rashad easily has heavier and faster hands.

KO by Rashad or another decision by Tito

I think that Evans has a clear advantage on the feet. Tito's wrestling hasnt seemed very sharp lately. I just cant see Ortiz finishing Evans. Therefore, Rashad via 2nd round KO. I think that Tito's only shot would be to out-wrestle Evans to a decision, but I'm not convinced that he is even able to do so.

The first fight was full of sooo much suck.Let us hope that a second one never happens

I think Rashad has a better wrestling game than stand up. His athleticism allows him to get the better of mediocre strikers.
See him against machida (a true striker) and he looks sub-par.
I think his few KOs and TKOs have given him a big head in the stand up game and now rarely uses his wrestling skills.

This being said if he ignores his wrestling skills I think Tito can put him on his back and control him for the decision

Id go with Rashad UD. The Rashad that should of lost to Tito and the one we see today are two totally differant animals. I doubt Tito has improved that much, he might even be worse than he was with all the time off/injuries.
