Posted 8/16/09 11:18:00PM "MMA legend Kazushi Sakuraba (24-12-1) was earlier today announced as a late addition to Tuesday's DREAM.11 event by the Japanese-based organization. An opponent for "The Gracie Hunter" has not yet been named. In a bit of additional card-shuffling, lightweight Daisuke Nakamura was moved to the promotion's Oct. 25 event, DREAM.12." LINK |

Posted 6/22/07 12:02:00PM Dude if he's going to keep on fighting i hope they give him some reasonable matches. I don't want to see more KO losses and Saku turned into a vegetable. I'm still excited when his name is mentioned. Hopefully he'll be in match-ups of interest w/ other old dudes to remind us of the good ol' days. |

i get excited as well, he's by far my favorite japanese fighter to ever compete. however, i think it's best that he stop fighting. like you said, seeing him punch drunk wouldn't be cool at all |

Posted 11/4/07 10:24:00AM I don't know if his speed is diminished enough for this to be rediculous, but I would be really interested in a Shinya Aoki vs Sakuraba fight. Sakuraba's way heavier and it seems like it would be an incredible grappling war. Anyone else think that would be amazing? (also, after watching what Manhoef did I have no desire to see him compete at an elite level against a decent striker ever again, that **** was vicious) |

Posted 8/3/07 12:38:00PM You'll like Saku's matchup if you believe in booked-to-win. His foe is American pro boxer Rubin Williams according to Japan-MMA. Evidently this is Williams' MMA debut. I give him 45 seconds before Saku subs him. |

I usually don't like bad match ups, but in the case of mma greats that are too far past their prime to be really competitive vs. the modern mma fighter I don't have a problem with it. I just see it for what it is, a showcase of former great meant more for fans to remember their heyday rather than mean anything in the modern mma scene. _______________________________________ |
