"He’s had his first test on The Ultimate Fighter, so is Kimbo Slice now a mixed martial artist?

The short and sweet of it is no.

On Wednesday night’s episode of The Ultimate Fighter, Kimbo (Kevin Ferguson) faced former International Fight League heavyweight champion Roy Nelson.

It took him the better part of the first round, but Nelson eventually leg tripped Kimbo to the mat. Kimbo spent the final 30 seconds of the round crucifixed, eating short peppering punches to the top of his head. The round easily favored Nelson."

"Short peppering punches"

Ha...he was hitting him with marshmallows.

I think Kimbo would have done rather well had he not been in there with someone that outweighed him by nearly 40 pounds.

Kimbo is a MMA fighter in my book, look at all of the other losers that are considered MMA fighter. Kimbo is far from the bottom of that list. Maybe far from the middle too, but definitely not the bottom of the barrel.

Someone told Nelson to go easy on Kimbo.

It was a sad performance , Kimbo looked like he's lost some hand speed , I think his age might already be a factor . I think he'll be back on the show , and I think he's going to improve , and probably win a fight , maybe even a rematch with big country , otherwise I don't even care to see any more of him , he looked like an old hobo . I've seen kids in the schoolyard with better ground skills .

How many of those kids had a 265+ lb guy laying on their chest/head?

A 265+ lb BJJ black belt nonetheless.

Aw, come on. The dude has nothing on his back.

He reminded of a guy on my old high school wrestling team. We called him leather back. Every time he was put on his back, he was pinned. It didn't matter who did it to him. He could be crushing the guy and he would get pinned.

I just don't understand how he could be so immoblie off his back. I can understand not being able to ACTUALLY get of his back, but once he couldn't use his feet on the cage, he had nothing. If Roy's belly wouldn't of been so big, Kimbo would have had no where to hide his face and would of been eating those shots.

That can't be denied. My beef lies with those people who say he doesn't belong in the UFC *because* of this.

Honestly that fight was a joke. Roy should have been able to stop him more convincingly than that. IMO it made Roy look worse than it did Kimbo. We all know Kimbo has no ground game but Roy supposedly does. I think Big Country (and boy is that a big country) would have gotten tired and flopped off of Kimbo before any of those punches were knocking him out.

That was a lame stoppage. The punches did no damage and Roy was gassing.

It was pretty evident that Dana wasn't impressed at all with Nelson.

He has a black belt in BJJ? More like a black belt in competitive eating.

As soon as he got hit by Kimbo he took it to the ground and laid on him and it tapped on him with punches.

I think unless Nelson wins this season, I doubt Dana will have him back.

Ya you'd think roy just beat a top ten fighter by the way he celebrated after his win. I thought kimbo looked ok on his feet, but he was so flat on his back you'd think he never did a shrimp drill. Nelson looked like a fat Tom Erikson, absolutely boring on the ground.
