Turns out Michael Bisping may not headline UFC 105 after all. According to InsideFights, a source within UFC says that BJ Penn's next UFC Lightweight Title defense against Diego Sanchez will happen at UFC 105 in November. This comes despite Penn saying he's never do a UK event again over money issues and 105 expecting to be a free TV event in the US.

I don't think this is happening...

A title fight on free TV? in England? Naww... they'll push this back another event me thinks.

Can't wait to watch this fight though!

I think Sanchez would have a good of winning by TKO or decision.

Why not? They showed Jackson/Henderson at UFC 75 from London on Spike.

I think it'd be a good idea. A title fight on spike would potentially bring in more fans, especially since I don't see any way Sanchez/Penn wouldn't be an exciting fight

Will be a great fight and i dont think the problem is with a title fight on free tv it is with Penn not getting a percentage of the PPV buys. I dont see this happening

Yeah I dont think this will happen at 105, because bj is the way he is. I know BJ says he wants to fight again soon but i'd be suprised if it happened at 105 in the UK.

Yeah I'd agree, I've heard BJ say he doesn't like the over seas PPV idea, because due to time differences, the buy rates are always lower. That equals a smaller cut for the fighters. I'm selfish here because I'm vacationing in November and plan on hitting up 106.....a Penn Sanchez title fight rounds that card out very nicely.....

If this actually happens I'm picking Sanchez to pull off the big win. I think he's just gonna overwhelm Penn.

Aaronno9 » Posted 10/10/07 2:09:00PM

Um, B.J won the title fighting on a U.K card, so I cant see why he'd have a huge problem coming back to defend it.

Penn will beat Sanchez, if he attacks Penn it will only happen quicker, Diego's best chance is having Penn come to him, if he chases Penn he will go down hard.

WAR PENN

This fight has WAR written all over it. I think Sanchez will be a stiff test for Penn. Definitely a great fight in the making.

i dont know if i'm more excited for the prefight trash talk or the post fight trash talk

Shadymlm » Posted 6/23/09 1:00:00AM

Damn this is a hard one to pick I've never picked against BJ but Sanchez has looked really good at LW... I'm gonna have to say Diego... Please forgive me baby

cDUBB » Posted 10/23/08 9:47:00PM

I love Diego, but everyone is saying how good he's looked at 155...has he really? He couldn't finish Stevenson (BJ owned him), he started off great against Clay and only wound up winning a split. Diego's primary strength is wrestling, BJ has insane takedown defense (except against GSP).

Diego has a nice record and good wins in the UFC, but is not as impressive in his wins as it appears.

BJ 4th round rear naked choke
